Hallo! From my point of view is much better the using of military design of masking colors. That design hides the quadratic contours of the trap and a possible stealer is not able to see this trap. Mix of colors is necessary to optimize to the kind of tree for hunging of this trap. Sorry for my English, but I hope, that you understand to me. Thanks.

Great videos. I have been watching a ton of them this season. Many folks put some sort of hardware cloth over that double opening to keep birds etc out. Any ideas of what you will use to close the holes should you catch a swarm and need to move them? Looking forward to the next videos.

Ron Mimnaugh - I have heard of people putting hardware cloth or even gluing a framing nail over the hole to prevent birds. I haven’t gone that route and luckily haven’t had any bird problems. It wouldn’t hurt though. I use gorilla glue duck tape over the holes when i move a caught swarm. That stuff sticks and holds to anything. I also strap down the trap in the back to my truck so it’s not slipping and sliding all over and prevents the lid from blowing off. My goal is to minimize stress on the bees. Stay tuned and hopefully I will have a video showing you exactly how I do it.

Ron Mimnaugh take a small peace of 1x2 make a hole on one end use it as a gate sliding it up and down.
