I made 15 of your first traps and have had what I consider great success. This looks like a game changer. I’ve noticed that the bees will draw a lot of comb below the frames as you said and this trap will definitely combat that problem. Great design and keep up the good work 👍
A couple of simple, yet strong, wooden "handles" on the ends would help with handling the box...with 10 frames, and 3-5 pounds of bees, having something to grip on to would make a good design even better...IMHO. Thanks for your creativity...
I made a four or eight frame trap with a similar idea, but instead of using a removable frame rest the side of the hive fits in like a puzzle and slides out using two 45 degree cuts. So you slide the portion of the one side out, push the frames in and slide them to the opposite wall, then place the additional four frames on top. Yours is so much simpler and accomplishes the same thing with less of a headache and it's probably more durable too. Wish I saw this video first.
Those are typically scout bees. Give it some time and they will bring their 10k other friends with them. I would say that 50% of my traps that have scout bees at them will have a catch in the next 2 weeks.
cool I never wanted to have anything to do with bees they found me have a shield we have to stop useing I had a 5th wheel trailer and another thing i stored in there sold the 5th wheel I don't work off the farm again more sold that boat too I have a different boat now it's at the lake lot and stays there too I had to work on a planter we bought a potato farm 5 or more year ago the planet was worn out yes taken it apart in that build had to wait for parts to be machined to the person was busy yes I had time don't heat this build but it can me if I needed it to be Christmas had all the parts to January started to heat the building up when I built this building want to use 2 x10 for the wall 20-foot walls wanted to put a floor inside afterward the plan was sitting on a 4-foot concrete wall to when the lumber came had 2 lift of 2x8 was a mistake on the labels but yea best of the best of the wood here to yea I was not complaining the engineer approved we can stagger the studs on one center to want I done never insulation the building at that time did after a later date, not with that walls did it on the outside of the building this time the honey bee moved into the walls with the heat on the came out yes few of the did at the first end of the week yea party they were having their yes I call a beekeeper for help they were looking for food now yea feed the bees sugar mixer of other thing too got my potato seed to rebuild to not the painting I wanted to be killing the bee NO thinks they were a very good helper lol they cost a lot to feed the pigs yes no boxes I could not find any here bought all the materials I needed CNC machine came in handle here cut out all of the material for me to water-base paint I did use to yea my sister inlaw teach grade 1 class she needed a project for art class subject finger painting on the be hives take 20 boxes into the class that was the wrong thing to be yes had 4 other grade one class wanted to paint the beehives to yes had a lot of hives to paint stop to pick at fuel had all of the hives on the trailer too tied down to have a net I use for the thing like that the lady came running out of the store after I asked me if she could have some to paint too she does awesome work but the time spring came I had 50 hives full of bees to I bought a thermal image heat gun to find the bee in the well yea the beekeeper said I have gold in my wall 500 hives I take from one area that year I keep 100 of them for my self too yes build a bee shield for them in the winter here 4 shields to put what I need inside of the shield for the too had a bad year with them storm got the hive to damage them all manage to have 75 hives saved 25 were cut off from use fall before I could see want was a lift of the bees too rode my horse in there still flood roads and fields found all 25 hives still there not in very good shape at all did find 1 extra bee too the beekeeper did look at them laugh at me he said the dead kills the don't have any food stored up I ask him if he could help out one night with the bees made new boxes to put the bee into for the ride out special bags I made to put the bees boxes inside 26 trips taken us to move them up so I could move them to the warehouse we own yea feed them all winter in the warehouse winter I go once a month to check up on the other hives I have put in the shields yea found the dead someone broke in not one time he came back with raid and used cases to kill the bees found the other 2 shields to did the same thing all I had was the one in the warehouse they did awesome their tonight I go and cover the hives up and closed the overhead door is I head to remove potatoes lease they were heat on that side by the time we have the plants move back to the other side the heat was ok taken the cover off of the boxes have made push able flower boxes have a flower growing too and vegetables to caught 2 other swarm too there to there were health bee when I sold them too yes I still have the shield have a bee in the wall have new hives make up now don't trust the hive were sprayed take nothing from the shields burn them I know they not able herm any bees yes the idiots were trespassing on my property the police said they were too busy they the story they given me when the shield was broken in and when the bees were killed my house was destroyed in the storm yes sea containers packed some of the houses things up before it fell in on it self the shield has bi-plane inside of it and ww1 thing a have to its pack as well the bi-plane has been fixed now and has been put back up hanging the ambulance is done is back in the shield, for now, have the carts to do now I live in a private museum I did not know what to do with the room I have here in the house the police were very interested my the guns I keep too they do know how to get here and the wildlife officers too yea my animal not a normal farm animal same they came to me not all of them but the baby porcine had a tarp in his paw was the mother I had no idea were she was he was just born too look like it tarp I saw it before and the marking was new to me too porcupine recovered never wanted to leave the farm yes he stay the 8 skunks to coming home with the porcupine after the vet looked after his paw bad rainstorm seen a vehicle tail light came on a head-on me pitch blackout their to 8 baby skunks with there dead mommy on the side of the road the vet laugh at that call but the came out very the and ok form George to other wilded animals too they have gown in an amount too some are Good to see you back on TH-cam make some more videos

That's a fantastic piece of kit that nicely done :D
Nice work
Just include a link in the description next time… saves lives.
the website listed is no longer working. do you have a new website?
Is the attractant the same all across the states?
There is no reason it wouldn’t be the same. It’s most likely just lemon grass oil.
Say you catch a prime swarm and you have the 10 frames in the trap, how difficult is it to get the bottom 5 frames out with a huge swarm?
It is really easy. The bars that hold the top frames slide out and it is very easy to access them.
How many swarms do you catch a year?
I usually average around 15-20.
@@davidschomer6577 Wow. From how many traps?
I run 25 traps. I have a few spots that are always good for 2 swarms and am always trying new locations.
I've had a lot of action on day one after setting my swarm trap but traffic slows afterward. Think they are just curious about the scent?

wow amazing....super
A lot of thought went into your design. It sure be a hit.
👍
