wait I thought everyone had a copy of sonic heroes on their couch?
He's specifically showing that off because the TAS has to be played on emulator; the fact that disc based games have variable loading times means that it's almost impossible for a TAS to be run on those consoles.
I think it could be a legal thing, to show they own the game. I've seen dwango do it at the events.
It's common is TAS videos as they use emulators to justify they own the game.

Fastest human run is almost 10 minutes slower.....
That's over 30% slower, wouldn't call that close.
The TAS they are chasing was designed for RTA. There are faster TAS runs of smb that use human impossible techniques (pressing left and right on the same frame)
@@Neurotik51 I think they mean the Mario game where they are close to the TAS by frames.
@@Subpar1224 They are close to a TAS designed specifically to mimic human possible inputs. The actual fastest TAS of that game is well ahead of what's possible for a human. This will be universally true for any game, there's no debating that. Many things TAS software does are too perfect to ever be incorporated into any type of human input, we're simply too slow.

I really want to see this TAS evolve into a 100% of the game. I would assume the emerald stages are entirely broken, and I'm curious to see how broken the final boss would be.
100% means getting all the A-ranks and then beat super hard mode, and the WR all A ranks (without super hard mode!) is 8 hours and 45 minutes or so

Oh, I didn't check out SGDQ this year, but I just searched Sonic Heroes TAS to see if there is a new one since I last checked, and saw the very welcome surprise that this was showcased there.
I should have know something like this would be how a speedrun of sonic heroes is done.

That single *S H A A* while they’re free-falling sideways in Seaside Hill always gets me.
As someone who loves this game but has never seen a speedrun, I think I was a bit terrified when I saw the gameplay start.
I knew I was in for a treat when I read the title. With how many different tricks I've seen in RTA runs, I knew some weird stuff was gonna be found inside a TAS run!
This was my favourite sonic game growing up, nice TAS bro ;)

This TAS just goes to show how long it can take to fully understand the mechanics of a game! The difference between the knowledge base of communities like Mario Bros or Sonic 1 compared to Heroes is astounding. Still really amazing TAS and hopefully someday we can discover ways of allowing human players to perform some of these tricks!

I played this game thousands of hours as a kid & never thought it would be this broken with glitches! Amazing
sonic's eyes in that ending cutscene (when they're talking about egg emperor penguin) are incredibly disturbing

This is one of my most childhood games and seeing TAS Bot absolutely Anhillate and gives Sonic games a whole new meaning to speed,... For a SPEEDRUN..

I just realized something. Do the amount of words said after the level end affect the time? If so, then why not get the right rankings to get the shortest response on the right character to increase time efficiency?
Eggdit: Commented early in the run and you got so many more A ranks than I imagined. So shame on me.

Awesome! Might not be the best grades in normal mode, but I bet this absolutely melts Team Sonic's alternate missions.

TAS's do get compared to human speedruns when they are ment to show what the "possible" human limit of s game could be. HOWEVER they do NOT compete against each other and are generally used to help with referencing and implementing new strategies that may be viable for real time runs.
