    Hi! Two questions for you.
    1) I also have that rattle noise on my bike. Any idea what that is?
    2) The tube coming from the top left side of the carb looks like it connect to something. I tore mine down without noticing what, then I noticed you left yours open to atmosphere. Is this some sort of breather? If so, shouldn’t it be filtered?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @bigair0176
      @bigair0176  ปีที่แล้ว

      The rattle is more then likely the 2 stroke motor. Could be rings or exhaust but these bikes are known to rattle. Typical two stroke.
      All intakes should either be closed off or have a hose on them. Not sure if your seeing what looks like a hole but isn’t a hole.

    I just picked up a 2002 pw80, put a new carb on and it starts and idles fine, as soon as I twist the throttle any it Boggs and if I hold the throttle open long enough it does. Any idea what could cause this?

    • @bigair0176
      @bigair0176  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suspect your pilot screw isn’t set correctly. I would start there. If the problem persists take carb off and clean it. Your pilot screw position all depends on a variety of things like the condition of your motor, elavation, plug condition, reeds, and possibly compression. But start with adjusting the pilot in or out at like 1/4 turn at a time till you have a crisp throttle response. Just make sure motor is warm before you adjust it. Hope that helps.

      @@michaelrichardson6242 ok. So next step will be to adjust the pilot screw. Make sure your air filter is clean as well before you adjust the pilot screw. Depending where your located above sea level will determine how much you need to adjust the pilot screw. Just remember to adjust the pilot screw when the motor is completely warmed up. I can’t remember because it’s been a while. But I think mine was like 1.5 turns out from bottom. It’s in the video which one is the pilot screw. Is it an oem carb or cheap Chinese aftermarket carb?

      Pull the top off the carb and look down inside where the slide goes in. There is a little metal nub about 3/4 down on the inside of the carb. Then you line the channel up on the sleeve to the nub. It should slide down easy. If it’s not lined up the slide will not go in properly. If you have to force the slide in your doing it wrong.

    • @bigair0176

      Depends on a few things. Usually altitude and obviously the air fuel will be different. If you start with the pilot screw first then work on the idle once you have crisp throttle response. Only turn pilot out a quarter of a turn at a time to find the right air fuel mixture. Good luck!
