I don't know how i didn't see you both on day one. I left at 5.30 as well, that morning, and enjoyed the smokey sunrises. I agree with detassling corn as I did it for three years and made good money. I lost my chain three times on day one so if you saw a person with his bike turned over all the time, that was me. I stopped for beekman"s twice but never did, Mr. Pork chop.i stopped at the same beer stop and was laying under the big tree at the farm gate. I see you got the new hat on. You mentioned the rail road tracks in sioux city. There was 6 bikes with flats when i crossed the ones with the gap. I also hit 2 cones on day 1.
We Left camp at 6:30 Sunday. The difference in bike traffic was enormous compared to your 5:30 start. Quimby was our favorite stop of the day. The Nice couple on an awesome bike.
I rode between 10AM-6:30PM on Day 1. Very little traffic/lines! That was nice. But the heat was not. After that, woke up at 3:30AM, in bag line by 4:15, bags on truck by 5:00, on the road. Loved the morning riding. Did not love waking up that early!
Terry. Did my first ever Ragbrai. Life time memories and now you videos to re-live it. Thanks...
Congratulations! It was one to remember. 😁
The free watermelon in Quimby was amazingly refreshing . Thank you people of Quimby Iowa for your hospitality.
My wife loved that.
Loved the videos waiting for day 2 3 4 5 6 7. Husband was there but did not take video so I really enjoyed this.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks Matt, I'm working on day 2. Hope to release it on Monday.

I know what you're talking about. We kept leaving early and early every morning. Trying to beat the crowds and heat. Keep on rolling!
Getting our bags to the trailers was a task in itself.
