    Seems to be the ideal scuba case! Will you easily fit a complete sidemount system with drysuite in it? Would be nice to see a packing vid. Keep up the nice clips!

      Hello Dennis Delin. We all use the Pelican cases for our gear. Including the Air and Protector Series. Depending in which drysuit you use, it is possible in the protector series. The Air series are slightly smaller.

    This would be a better video if you showed your gear in the case. This would give viewers an idea of whether all their gear will fit or not.

    Great video - woud love to see more B roll footage of the case being used like at 3:45 , ie: packing it with things + out and about in the field / in use + maybe you filling it up with gear etc... but still great video!
    One question I have is , when does one use / press the pressure valve ? A bit unsure how it works - when u collect it after a flight or is it only for certain uses ?
    cheers

      Thank You. In regards to the pressure relief, its only purpose is so that it does not become vapor locked after a flight. Due to Boyle's Law this becomes an issue with airtight cases.

    • @kane01337
      @kane01337 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh - so its more a passive feature that helps pressure situations , rather than something you need to actively press/use... good to know! thx for the reply + keep up the great videos! new subscriber - making my way through enjoying your past videos slowly but surely :)
      cheers

    Hello! This Pelican 1615 air case can be carried as hand luggage or must you check it for the hold of the plane? I await your response, thank you very much!

      Hello LUZBEL, the 1615 if for checked luggage. The Pelican Air 1635 is the carry on version.

      Hello MVM, unfortunately no. The Pelican Air 1634 is the carry on. Here is our review on it. th-cam.com/video/RQ1is6BiIO4/w-d-xo.html

    Can you tell me how to remove the business card holder? I want to replace the card; however, I can't figure out how to remove the plastic holder! Thank you.

      Hello Doreen Tisone, it simply shifts to the side and pops right up. Hope this helps.

    I'm having trouble believing those dimensions you verbally indicated. It looks bigger than that. Are you able to measure with a measure tape to prove the dimension?

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anony, here is the factory link from Pelican showing the measurements. www.pelican.com/us/en/product/cases/air/1615

    • @Nunya_biznas
      @Nunya_biznas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LakeHickoryScuba I know that's what the specs say, but I'm having a really hard time looking at the dimensions on a tape measure, but seeing your hands & arms around this thing makes me think the case is a little bigger than the specs say it is. I mean 15.5" interior width? That does not look 15.5"

    • @bloodymarvelous4790
      @bloodymarvelous4790 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Nunya_biznas So LHS tells you what the dimensions are. Pelican tells you what the dimensions are. There are countless websites who carry this case that tell you what the dimensions are. But you don't believe it because it looks larger on your computer screen?
      Do you also think you're living in the Matrix?

    Curious if this would be a good option for general clothing luggage. Looking for luggage that will hold up better than Samsonite rolling luggage and this stood out to me. Weight seems similar to those bags

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Gray Hodge, we exclusively use Pelican cases for all of our travel now. The Pelican Air series is the perfect system for flights.

    • @aluisious
      @aluisious ปีที่แล้ว

      It's going to weigh about 5 pounds more than a similar sized Samsonite bag, and cost more. Personally I think it's a little overkill for clothing and light items. I'm planning to use this bag for tools, I already have a smaller Pelican case for the tools now, but I never feel like my Samsonite is going to fall apart in travel.
      Also airlines think anything in a Pelican case is a gun about 20% of the time and you have to figure out what corner of the luggage claim they're holding it in.

    Hi Brian, How do you secure your Pelican 1615 when traveling? Do you use locks if so what would you suggest?

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To be honest, my gear is insured so I don’t bother locking my cases. However, for those that choose to, I would suggest a TSA friendly lock, as I have seen plenty of times where the TSA has cut a lock that a diver purchased. A wasted investment. TSA locks can be relocked after a random inspection.

    How do you change the name tag?

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello @ruairicunnane9845, great question. Once you open the case, you can slide the card holder to the side them pop it upwards. This way you can change the tag at will.

      Yeah, wow, can you imagine that? That besides their regular range of Pelican cases they would make lightweight cases for travel and call them Pelican Air? How even dare they?
      That's like Dodge making a Viper next to their RAM trucks. That Viper is terrible at going off-road.
