    So apparently the phenomenon is called 'Tangible Accomplishment'. Lots of people work in desk jobs where they never see anything actually get finished, never see anything from start to end. Vid's like Drain Addict, Mustie, Big Clive, Soth Main Auto etc., show people starting a job, getting through the difficult bit, and finishing it. I find it massively relaxing watching someone start a difficult job and finish it.
    I'm going to Sydney in September. I expect this chap will be on 150,000 subscribers by then and will have retired. If he's not I'm going to ask to spend some time with him. Solid, professional tradesman. The best to Drain Addict!

    Maybe I'm wrong, but I think a pipe turning over so easily like that is a very bad sign

    • @GGigabiteM
      @GGigabiteM 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Clay pipe doesn't have any ductility like PVC does, any tiny amount of soil shifting will destroy them.
      In this case, it looks like the leaking water softened the soil around the clay pipe and caused the elbow piece to get loose and fall over once it wasn't supported by the incoming pipe anymore. That concrete plug made it top heavy so it just fell over.

    We have inspection openings in the basement for such cleaning purposes.
    Something tells me that the modern "water-saving" devices such as dishwashers are the main reason for such fat deposits in the pipes.
    I also found toilet flush valves better than the economical flushing box.
    I wash the dishes by hand. Coarse scraps of food sticking to the plate end up in the garbage before I start to wash it off.

      I am SO with you on this one. Joints on clay tiles unsealed. Open sanitary waste air gaps at grade -- in open yard spaces. Stepwise down drains with multiple clean outs. And what's with these drain pits in the ground with OPEN flow channels for sanitary waste from the house? I have two threaded/sealed clean outs in my CLOSED main waste to the street. IDK.
