the car is amazing as it looks now!! cant imagine anything else done to it and look better! just tell Corey to straighten that hood trim 12:36 have a blessed day guys and cant wait for whats coming.
I've built a few lowered bugs over the years. They look great, but when they are that low they really kinda suck to drive. Bring that car up about 1 1/2" to 2" all the way around and it will change its drive ability completely. That extreme rear camber can and will cause oiling issues to the rear axle bearings, and has a tendency to tear up fulcrum plates where the inner axle end fits into the differential. That car has a great look. I love black cars with sunburned paint. Nice work getting it back to life.
For those that don’t know, Porsche 356’s came with the center beam adjusters built in. Beetles were never designed to be sporty, so they were not made that way. So glad the aftermarket world changed that. VW’s look badass lowered.
Man I love this bug ! its look so sick slammed, its to bad that I don't get enter the giveaway and I can ride it here in the Netherlands. keep the cool work up John !
Brah. The zip tie wiped off all your grease 😂. All good though. I didn’t even grease mine when I reinstalled them so thanks for the reminder. I’m gonna pull them out again and install a whole new stack since I’m missing a few leaves anyways. Also my presence is to have the back a little higher than the front but everyone has their own presence. I need a narrowed beam for my bug now but will probably only do a four inch narrowed or two. Good luck. Keep up the good VW work. Prob best car you have in the collection 😂 jk.
Do you grease between the leaf springs? There's some movement between the leaves on torsion, so I'd expect it to ride smoother than without grease inbetween.
Looking super good slammed! Also love that is has perfect patina just like the Corvair and BMW. You sure find the best patina cars! How do we enter the giveaway ?
crazy i'm a long time friend of Stephen Reischer's you just popped up on my suggested videos. known of you for a long ass time didn't know you started a youtube
Been there and done all that. Getting the steering wheel to sit straight is the next part for me and fixing a leak from the axle tubes against the tranny😢. Indexing the rear torsion bars was a nightmare. I went with stiffer torsion bars, one step up from factory and it took away the rear body roll.
“This is so Volkswagen” 😂😂😂 Yupp, we have all been there!
The best part is setting the car down for the first time and seeing just how low it goes! Looks rad! Great work guys!!
I love how in depth you guys get explaining and showing the process of the suspension install. Keep up the good work!
So sick I’m claiming it…Nicely done fellas looking forward to the next phase in the transformation.
Thanks man!!

Washer under the head of the spring retainer pin will effectively shorten the pin to keep the lug bolts from hitting.

I had a 60 years ago I sold to get married. This build brings back some good memories.

They really do!
I’ve got a slammed 1957 beetle with a Porsche 356b engine and it’s epic
Love the clarity you give on the different beetle mods! ))))

This makes me so happy! Grinning from ear to ear over here! Can’t wait for the merch to try and win this.
Fort Myers? That's my hood, well, close enough. Might have to check that event out.
Looks SO GOOD!! Can’t wait for the giveaway!!!
My first car was 66 beetle... Doing a great job with this one. looks killer
I had the same bolt length problem with mine .. didn’t realize I had to trim them and broke a spring in the drum .
Love it :) Patina rocks!! Those rear wheel bearings will be toast in a year but who cares right ;)
Exactly 😂
That thing is SLAMMED! Love it
Awesome stuff buddy well done
Make sure to use an oil shock on the front...looking good boyz!
This Beetle is sick. I love it.
Man I love this bug ! its look so sick slammed, its to bad that I don't get enter the giveaway and I can ride it here in the Netherlands. keep the cool work up John !
19:07 it really is. My mk3 has alternator issues I gotta figure our
Looks good. Can’t wait to bring it home to the east coast of Florida 😅
A beetle is my dream car and seeing this makes me want to get one faster and and your channel is my new favourite to watch keep it up
Looks Great!
I am getting ready to slam my 63 Meteor, hope it looks this good when done!
Car looks PHENOMENAL!!! Been waiting for this day! Cant wait to see what’s next to come and P.S… we NEEEED more patina paradise T’s!!!!
My brake shoe retainers were too long from Jbugs. So I used washers to space it back so it wouldn't hit the lugbolts.
That’s exactly what I’m planning to do on this as well!
I was hoping to come down to Eurotripper from Iowa to see this car in person, but travel just didn't work out :(.
This is pretty sick! Definitely enjoying the build, and ready fornthat give away!
So low and so good!! I’d love a ride in it at EuroTripper if possible?!
Let the fun driving begin
Immediate flashbacks to Corey and I banging our heads absolutely fighting the front torsion springs out of mine.

"So I haven't been filming that much" John, frequently.
Me, always haha

How do we enter the giveaway ?
Fun note, passat b5's share wheel lug bolt size with mercedes. Mercedes is longer however. Ask me how i know.😅
You guys are SoBadAss!!!!!🤙🏾
Wild video would be you guys driving the bug down to eurotripper.
Don’t ask me why but I picture it rolln through the streets of old London on a foggy night…….ya I know, way left field😂
Wouldn’t the cable tie push all the grease off as it goes down the rod
i LOVE this build so muuuuuuuuuch
crazy i'm a long time friend of Stephen Reischer's you just popped up on my suggested videos. known of you for a long ass time didn't know you started a youtube
also didn't know you moved to TN
So thats delrun bushing instead of a bearing for the torsion arms ??
add the 1in raised engine and trans/nosecone mount
too low in the rear, re-index and get a 185 or 195 on there
Yea we’ve already raised the rear!
Been there and done all that. Getting the steering wheel to sit straight is the next part for me and fixing a leak from the axle tubes against the tranny😢. Indexing the rear torsion bars was a nightmare. I went with stiffer torsion bars, one step up from factory and it took away the rear body roll.
Awesome car fellas
Just wondering why you used a 6 inch beam and then put 1 inch spacers
Seems a 4 inch would have been more effective
The spacers are in the rear because the 205s were rubbing. There aren’t any spacers up front on the 6” beam
🔥🔥🔥
Whata the details of the giveaway?
ITS SOOOOOO GOOOOODDD!!!!!!
Sweet!!!
Looks great!!!
Too slammed? Never. I don’t even think that’s a thing.
Exactly! 😂
Love it. How much rear negative camber?
all of it ;)
Been loving the series! When does the giveaway start and end?
Crushing it!
How do we enter the giveaway? Been following this project last few vids, digging it!
How do I get it ??!!!??? It'll go great with my EJ swapped 64
Way too much work lowering and cost too. Swing axles will wear quickly at the swivel end. It will get old bottoming out everywhere. Stock is rock!!!
What is the reason for narrowing the front? Is it to be able to go lower?
So it doesn't rub when turning.
HARD!
you should really invest in a tripod. the wobble is so exhausting
so cool!!!
Q: Dead battery?
A: Push start!
We had a carburetor issue, pushing down the hill may have just ended us up in the road and still not running 😂
What’s that sweet E36 in the back? 👀
Mannn it looks gooood
Car is a atunner
try harder to film more just please set up camera/phone press record
too low in the back...should sit slightly nose low, NOT rear low.
Mine was a 66' when I was a young buck I got into a fight and went to jail, when I got out my dad had sold my bug 😢
