Awesome stuff mate, fantastic fish from such a small river. Looks like your efforts over the season paid off. Catching barbel like that on light gear shows what good technique you have. Bit of a crazy session but you'll remember that one for a long time I'm sure! I achieved a lifetime ambition of catching a 12lb barbel last week so my end to season was a good one too! Keep up the good work and I hope your fishing isn't spoilt by anyone coming to try and find your locations. Tight lines mate!

Your videos are really unique mate you need to keep on with this! Thanks for sharing, the underwater clips add a real insight which we're very lucky to have. The guys of yester-year would have loved to get their hands on some footage such as.

Excellent video. One of the best ive seen. Nice to see barbel caught on light gear. Too many people use tackle that could land a British record carp for barbel these days.

Sorry to break it to you but matchmen have been catching barbel from the tidal trent for years using nothing more than a heavy feeder rod.

I can’t remember if you said where you’re catching the barbel as would love to catch them again, we have the Kennet down here and the barbel have just about disappeared. I remember fishing the Thatcham AA water at Chamberhouse Mill and having dozens in my swim now they have just disappeared 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fantastic time fishing and thank you for filming it and sharing your catch with us all. My mobility prevents me from river wandering so this is just a distant memory for me but I look forward to spending time fishing with you in the future.... Any chance of mentioning the location (you don't have to be too specific - the name of the river would be nice)....Tight lines

What a fantastic session. 👍🏻. May I ask how you set your underwater camera up and what type is it. The underwater video feeds in this and especially the perch videos are brilliant. I’d love to get some video and would ask your advice please. Thanks for posting 🎣

Always rest the fish in the landing net first for at least while you sort your camera gear out etc. Glad to see you correctly re-introduce the fish to the water and letting it go when the fish is ready. It`s vitally important we advise and educate other anglers at every opportunity.

Maybe I could come meet you for few hours when barbel fishing as I've tried for over a year now to hook my first barbel and still not had one but what makes it worse is my brother will be setup next to me and he catches without fail. I have even gone so far as using same setup ad my brother and still nothing . !!
