    I bought a RRS 2.7 and it’s costing me a fortune to get it back on the road hopefully it will be back on the road in 2023

    • @thecartell
      @thecartell  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      unfortunately the 2.7 are a little more problematic than the 3.6 but thats not to say its a bad vehicle, i saw a 2.7 rrs just yesterday at 190k with full year mot and only minor advisories. its mostly due to the previous owners to be fair, they never take care of their vehicles. these cars (any cars) will require maintaining on time which is key :)

      @@thecartell I did a straight swap for the RRS unseen by doing that I lost out big time the guy got my Freelander2 with 12 months MOT and i ended up with a money pit

    After years of 'proper' Land Rovers I've just picked up an 07 plate L320 HSE; with the 3.6 TDV8. Have to say I love it. It's amazing after my old Defender though. I loved my 200TDi too; but it's almost impossible to believe the same company made both vehicles. Just in terms of comfort, speed, bells & whistles etc. But they got both platforms so spot on for what they are intended to do.

    • @thecartell

      congrats on the purchase dude :) they really are fantastic vehicles and a real joy to drive, but i have to say, your part of the range rover family now, there is no going back 🤣just when you think your going to move on to something else, you'll see another one up for sale and boom, your back lol

      @@thecartell Thank you. And yes, I am just loving 'wafting'. I'm also slowly coming to accept that there is now a Land Rover product that can go round corners. Although I was on a particular bit of road yesterday were I was sure she was going to tip over (on the way to Trevaunance Cove if you ever fancy it). Of course it was just being so high up. I could probably have left a cup of tea on the dash.
      I do miss that you can't just read the Haynes manual and tinker. But I have got a collection of bits accumulating in my hallway so I can have a go at getting her back to concourse level.
      Now, having just got her, I must stop myself going "Hmm, now the 494 is out, I wonder what the 461s are going for?"

    Well I love my 2011 Sport. AB. Owned 2 yrs now.
    Great drive. Such a nice place to be.
    Not a fan of the later models so bought the best I could afford.
    I did lots of research and listened to owners and mechanics opinions. I ignored the web for opinions.
    I am expecting some large bills at some stage. But aware these cars are not cheap to run.
    They also shouldn't be run on a shoe string, that's just asking for trouble.
    Far more interesting than a Toyoata.
    They really get under your skin.
    Great car. Only complaint, rear legroom is not the best if the driver has the seat right back as I do

      its all about who you know bud, plus don't pay too much attention to faults you find on diagnostic machines, i drove mine with 22 faults on the diagnostic, for an entire year, you get engine management lights, you get air suspension lights but nothing that effects the drive. if it ain't broke, don't fix it. otherwise you'll end up paying a fortune lol

    Range Rovers are unreliable "mostly" (not always) because they've been bought second hand by people with "Champagne tastes, but Lemonade budgets". Then they fail to keep up the expensive servicing , especially if it's a high mileage motor,and when something starts to fail , can't afford the repair or are reluctant to shell out because of the age and mileage. Then they sell it on to the next person who inherits all the problems the previous owner neglected to address. The vehicle becomes uneconomical to repair and so the inevitable "Range Rover's are unreliable" phrase gets bandied about again.

    L322 or Sport? Could you advise on this, please?

    • @thecartell
      @thecartell  ปีที่แล้ว

      its simple really, comfort, style, class and overall luxury, especially if your a big fella, id go for the l322 all day. if your looking for something more fun to drive, roomy enough, much better turning circle and overall drivability, maneuvering and something easier to park lol id get the sport. both in 3.6 tdv8 though thats better in reliabilty (proven) stronger, more powerful and better on fuel on longer runs
