Welcome to the CarTell. This is as always, my personal opinion and (i truly hope this is clear as day) is not a fact, it is merely an opinion. this is a 350 cdi grand edition, only 560 ever build for the uk roads so it is quiet rare, being a white amg pack with the maroon red leather is super rare and deserves the title "uniqorn #mercedes #cls #cars

    I had a beutiful 2.7 RR sport 2007, going down the road there was a bang and the engine completly died! The Oil pump housing had split which is held in with bolts that also holds the timing gear, which allowed the timing chain to jump, ruining the top end. So car scrapped and I've bought a superb V8 3.6! Love them and a gluten for punishment!!! lol

    • @hughmarcus1
      @hughmarcus1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 2.7 has a timing belt not a chain. There was a known issue with the 2007/08 engines & oil pump failure.

    Comments like "If you don't treat rust. It will only get worse." had me reaching for the stop button. Is your target demographic primary school children? Comments like that just waste people's time. Did you even plan what you were going to say beforehand. Or are you such an incredible public speaker, that you never need to prepare. Your monotone is very hard to listen to. That said. The steering wheel issue was mildly funny. The way a whoopy cushion is funny once. If only you'd arranged for a boxing glove to pop out from underneath the wheel to punch the driver hard in the balls, THAT would've been worth watching once. But comedy requires intelligence, so that was never going to happen. You're never going to be the next Clarkson, so give up now.

    This is interesting to watch, like you say the horror stories about these are actually terrifying! Due to some bad health problems I’m in the market for a big auto car with a 6k budget and these are up top of my list. Looking at 3.6 models with anywhere from 80k-120k but focusing on history and extended warranty as much as the mileage. Always loved the range rovers but it’s those that haven’t owned one that do all the fear mongering. Any advice on looking? Fancy doing a video on actually buying one to help a viewer out? 😂

If not sure get an expert to look for you it really is that simple !! German brands in my humble opinion are living off history these days they are not very well made but the Yanks love them and shout from the tree tops how good they are when we all know they are not !!!!!!!! @@thecartell I'm pretty happy actually 😅 All these rumors spreading around enabled me to get a great deal on a 2012 Range Rover Sport 5.0 Supercharged during Covid and it has been problem free so far. I'd recommend to just do what my car's previous owner has done - keep servicing it at the franchise, fix every niggle the moment it pops up and don't miss your service intervals and you should be good to go. My friends drive new Golfs that were more expensive than this Range Rover and their constant excuse was that this car would cost me £10 000 a year to maintain...and, well, in the past two years, I haven't even spent a tenth of that.

    Range Rovers are unreliable "mostly" (not always) because they've been bought second hand by people with "Champagne tastes, but Lemonade budgets". Then they fail to keep up the expensive servicing , especially if it's a high mileage motor,and when something starts to fail , can't afford the repair or are reluctant to shell out because of the age and mileage. Then they sell it on to the next person who inherits all the problems the previous owner neglected to address. The vehicle becomes uneconomical to repair and so the inevitable "Range Rover's are unreliable" phrase gets bandied about again.
