Lawn Mower Go kart Build 40 MPH +

I built a go kart from a toro rear engine riding lawn mower
it had a straight axle with gear set for #41 chain drive so it made
this really simple also the front wheels use bearings, I have had it over 40 mph confirmed with the gps but at this time their is no brakes so I don't dare to go any faster lol

It's fun and it's fast I just to do something for brakes

2:47 what is that big thing beside the sprocket? Is that a 3/4 shaft rear axle? I need to find a axle setup like that, does that mower still have it's serial plate on it Toro 8.32 probably has a number of different read axles ?? I'd like to get that info where I can source one of those, THANKS for ANY help !

I no longer have the mower and the big thing next to the sprocket is a type of slip differential

I didn't see any brakes. How do u slow down or stop?

I used my feet to stop for the time being but did order a brake kit for a gokart to Install
