There's also the possibility that you might go into one of these studies with your DNA and not find any connections whatsoever. That happened to me with doing my mother's DNA. She's a height biologically, but the particular branch of the family that were from there it is no information in the family group project for that group. Same for my father's branch. His particular Fox line has no information in the Y DNA test for the fox line. So it does happen that even if there is a family group study there is the possibility you're going to run into an issue because you may not fit in that study even though your DNA tells you that you're part of one family or another.
It is great to see different ways people can collaborate with Wikitree and DNA. I may need to get involved in some projects in the future.
