Wunderschöne und detaillierte Aufführung dieser spätromantischen und ethnisch komponierten Suite mit seidigen Tönen aller Streichinstrumente. Der intelligente und geniale finnische Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete deutsche Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit künstlerisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Wunderbar und faszinierend zugleich!
@@NDRKlassik 'Rakastava' means 'the one who loves' i.e. could be translated as the lover in Finnish. The actual word for lover is 'rakastaja'. 'Loveable', on the other hand, is 'rakastettava' in Finnish. Complicated? Yes!
We love that - "there is no fish in the music". 😂 To add one fun fact to this discussion: There are many fish sandwiches available in the harbour area near our concert hall, the Elbphilharmonie...
@@NDRKlassik Yes, it was there I had my fish sandwich, after visiting Elbphilharmonie! Besides I am a fan of all music you put on TH-cam. Greetings from Sweden!

Long time Sibelius fan. I have never heard nor heard of this piece before. I am enjoying Sibelius's going "outside" with the harmony in this.
Thank you for listening and sharing your thoughts on this piece! 🤩
Music by Sibelius I never heard before. But after listening two times I like it. It has a somewhat sad, and perhaps nordic feeling.
Thanks for listening and sharing!

Rayastava I think means loveable. I have nor spoken Finnish for 50 uears, but I think I am right.
The title is spelled “Rakastava” not "Rayastava". According to the score of the work the title means translated "The Lover" (Der Liebende).

i'm a 'lover' of fish sandwiches. i hear hamburg has the best.
Well, that's correct - but we also have good music here... 😎🎻🎺
The fish sandwiches of Hamburg are not better than fish sandwiches from elsewhere. I have tried them. Besides this is exellent music! No fish in it.
