Gotta say I love these Antares 44s. The cabinetry is exquisite and really highlights the cheap and tacky looking aesthetic of competitors such as the Leopards and Lagoons. This boat leaves them in the dust. By far the best option in its class across all the criteria needing to be met if bluewater sailing as a couple is to be a reality.

LTD Sailing - "Living the Dream!" I would love to but my wife would kill me if I got rid of our 52S for a go-fast! But we are retiring early in 2 years to sail full time & I’m hoping to find a cross between our Lagoon & something fast that won’t cost a fortune. When I see it we will give you a call.
Jamie - there are a few options out there. I am going to be very interested to see what the new Balance 482 is like, but I know it won't have nearly the living space of your Lagoon 52. To find that much living space in a performance cat - it's going to have to be big and that means it won't be cheap... The reason I hold out hope for the B482 is that it isn't going to be built from as exotic of materials as the B526 - so it should be priced a bit more affordably. I am expecting a comfortable design with like 3/4 the performance of the B526 at a much more affordable price.

@@Ltdsailing To me its a BullSh!t boat as it has only TWO heads, one in the owner's side and one forward on the Port side so if the aft Port guests want to have a crap they got to go past the other guests????????????????
Some people judge boats by how well they sail,, how well their built, or how user friendly they are to operate. And some people judge them by number of heads. Everyone has an opinion.
Robert - actually the way it is set up, the guest in the aft cabin can easily use the head on the starboard side. It is separate from the owner's cabin and allows access without having to go through their cabin. The boat is really set up for a couple cruising together and occasionally having guests. Which is normally what happens. It is not designed for charter use where you would expect to have all the cabins occupied all the time. It's not for everyone - but they are great boats.

Yes! That was my mistake - Antares are definitely built in Argentina, not Brazil!
Great quality boat. Only weird things for me is that horrible orange sink. Washer/dryer is not in a good location imo. For ocean passages I want storage space right there.

Yes - they are now. Originally built in Canada as the PDQ 44.

Dang - I am not sure and this boat has been sold now. Next time I am on an Antares 44 I will check and let you know.

you can get a new bali or even a nautitech fly for that..
@@AndrewRandston1 Yes - but then you would have a new Bali!!! Not even close to the quality of a Antare. Nautitech isn't quite as bad, but still not a quality built boat like the Antares 44. Don't get me wrong - I am not in love with the Antares 44 - this isn't even my listing - but you have to understand that the boats you are talking about are not in the same category as the Antares.
@@Ltdsailing not sure about the blue water capabilities of Bali with the solid bow but they are owned by catana. Very solid bloodline. Maybe it's a personal choice.. but I'd rather go for a 40ft catspace out of the box for €300k

How much, is it for sale?
So I’m curious is this a good price or is it high in price? I’m looking for a cat for my wife and I to cruise the Caribbean for about ten years. We are in our sixties so no looking for a project. Any support is greatly appreciate
I think that for this boat, the price was fare. The Antares boats are very well built with a lot of attention paid to fit and finish.
