Hi Nick, it’s about twenty years or so since I walked that path. It hasn’t seemingly changed much. It’s amazing that parts of The Lake District are teeming with tourists and yet it’s still possible to get away from the madding crowd. The drone footage of the cliffs was wonderful. As always, thank you.
Thanks Mark ☺️ I think you're right, I first attempted this about 20 years ago and from what I recall it hasn't changed much at all I totally get that, one minute there can be dozens of people around and the next nobody for miles
It's a lovely coastline there when the weather is clear like it was on this day, can see The Isle of Man and some of the coast/mountains of Scotland at points! Next one will be out on Sunday, keep your eyes peeled :)
I've visited so many beautiful locations over the past 3 years in the UK, If you'd told me these places existed before that I'd have thought you a liar 😅
Wow!! Amazing place. Fantastic views and great shots. Very nice video. I fly drone over the ruins and historic buildings.😊 Good work. Big thumbs up 👍👍👌Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱
I have done this hike twice, once in each direction and 10 day per crossing is the norm for Summer months. Loved every step of the way. Tony the Retired Hiker in Essex
Day one for me was an early start (4AM) thanks to a friend driving me from Essex overnight to St Bees and my day 1 ended at Black Sail YHA, weatherwise Sun all the Was with a clear blue sky. Tony the Retired Hiker in Essex.
@@NickGoesHiking I had at the time not long left the Military as a 22 yr old, so hiking replace Route Marches for me, keeping me in shape and using to of my Miilitary Trainning on the map reading side. Tony the Retired Hiker in Essex.
Fabulous Nick, that's a gorgeous beach and a stunning place to hike. Loved your drone footage over the sea and land stuff you had lovely views as you walked. Loved your camp spot too 🙂👍~ Anna
Looking forward to watching this series - walked the route Sep 22 so reliving the trail (although living in Whitehaven I walk this section on a regular basis - in fact as it is fine today I might just pop out to St Bees?)
Yeah, get down there, enjoy the weather while you can 😁 It's a shame I live so far away, It would be a regular walk for me too, for now I'll have to cope with my yearly visit
I could do with a bit of sea air! In a couple of months or so I'll be walking along the Hot Walls at Portsmouth, at last! Not quite as peaceful and pretty but it'll have to do!
Portsmouth is a lovely seaside city, I'd quite like to do a walk around the whole harbor one day, Maybe start at Havant and finish at Fareham, something different :)
@@charlotterolph5373 I'll have to check that out :) Always on the lookout for interesting places to hike, especially if they're a short train ride away

Such a beautiful scenery, this looks amazing my friend!
It's a lovely little area that is often overlooked because it leads into the Lake District, but that's where the real views are 😁
It's been a long time since I was there but I still remember that walk.
It's barely changed, I seem to recall the bit where it goes in then straight back out being higher though?
Wow!! Beautiful place for a hike. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Like 👍8
Thank you 😊
It's a lovely place to start such a great hike, Wainwright sure knew how to pick them
Absolutely stunning views! At this rate I'm going to have to plan a couple of months just to see everything I want to see in the UK.
