Hot take: The reason why so few people are playing tank in this game is not because of counter-swapping or game mechanics per se, but rather how they are treated by their teammates. Having the burden of playing a tank is more then enough pressure as is, but add the negative comments and feedback from your teammates, or other people in the match on top of that and It is very understandable why people want to avoid this role. It can be the small things like people pointing out "tank diff", or straight up sh*t-talking their own tank. Sometimes I dont always agree with my tanks choices, but he might be new, he might have a bad day or have other reasons for why he plays like he does, and as you`ve pointed out before (if I understood you correctly), if a tank has a bad playstyle, its better to actually just follow him, then to see him go in and die alone.
That and sometimes you can’t do anything because the enemy team blows you up instantly. But you know that you have to do something. And then the blame comes ur way but that game is lost. Go watch unranked to gm’s they lose games even when they’re some of the best in the game. Sometimes it doesn’t matter who is in that position it’s a loss
Honestly yeah. I had to take a break. If anything wrong happens blame the tank. But let’s you carried or did a great play you don’t get the recognition but if your dps or supp gets a double kill then all kudos to them. Your an unsung hero like an OLineman in football.
I think this is a correct take. I have been a Tank main since maybe as early as the start of OW1, and I have recently started queuing only DPS. It is just too easy to blame the role who is playing solo, especially when it is so pivotal. I am not sure if 6v6 solves anything (because I think it just ends up 1-3-2), but without some counter swap protection or more clarity in-game about what a Tank can and cannot do, I do not think this ever changes. Related: I did have this QP game where one of the Supports started crapping on me, and then I switched to Sigma and took over the game. The Supports ultimately recognized it and entirely stopped healing the DPS, who were doing absolutely nothing. The enemy could not kill me, and we handily won the game. As I am on console, I cannot realistically text chat, so I just spammed the "You are welcome" default voice line. It felt pretty good.
Wrong take. Everyone gets flamed. You’re not a special snowflake or cookie just because you play tank. Supports get flamed, DPS gets flamed, tank gets flamed. What you’re saying basically is that nobody wants to play tank because of something that happens to EVERYONE. That’s impossible, otherwise nobody would wanna play DPS or Sup too because they get flamed as well. You’re accidentally saying that tank players are delicate flowers compared to people who play the other roles.
Hot take: Karq doesn't even know what a hot take is. I've seen tons of hot takes that he calls cold just because he agreed with them. Hot take = controversial not Hot take = Karq disagrees
I think yall miss understand. It's a hot take because they think this is a hot take. And KarQ just uses hot to cold to describe his level of agreement with the take.
Hot take: when a teammate leaves a comp game it should be factored into the percentage of sr lost. Ie a “short handed” factor that makes the amount of sr lost 5% this way the negative impact of losing a game a teammate leaves/disconnects from is mitigated so it’s still a loss but not as devastating as a normal loss would be to the sr. I know people will argue against this because they will say that ppl will start grouping up with a player who just creates duplicate accounts for leaving games that are “lost” but I think the benefits for the community of solo queue comp players far out weigh any negatives a duo or group of players abusing the system could do to the game.
Regardless of whether this is a hot take or not, this is just mathematically impossible and would never even work. This is not how ELO and SR works in video games or ranking systems and it’s quite literally impossible
Hot take: Stealth as a mechanic would be much better suited to a support character. I don’t think sombra should be reworked to support, but a stealthy support would have WAY more room between useless and infuriating to be well-balanced.
Hot take (Maybe, maybe not?): The worst thing they did to Orisa was remove her damage falloff. With falloff it gave her a much more well-defined niche as a brawl tank who wanted to get up in the other tank's face and bully them.
Countertake: That’s far from the worst thing. The real worst thing they did was buff junkrat’s nade damage. Along with the hp changes, junkrat has become way more common in matches, and he’s arguably the least fun hero to play against as a tank main.
The worst thing they did to Orisa is add her into the game but besides that, it’s the No headshots during Fortify mechanic. It’s gross and rewards skill-less gameplay. Hitting headshots means you’re a good aimer. If the game doesn’t allow you to express your skill and aim, it’s a garbage game.
Oh hey it's my Orisa take. To be a bit more thorough with my opinion on her: - Javelin throw with its high damage + knockback + micro stun doesn't feel good to get hit by, especially since it comes out basically instantly with no time to react. I also just think stuns in general are very anti-fun but that's a different discussion. - Getting pushed around by spin when up close is just annoying. The general idea of the ability is fine but that aspect bothers me. - Fortify giving overhealth, crazy damage reduction, immunity to all forms of CC, and reduced heat generation is too much for one cooldown. - Terra Surge just feels kind of lame to use? I don't play Orisa outside of Mystery Heroes but when I fight her it's ironically the part of her kit I feel the least threatened/annoyed by (granted I tend to play heroes with mobility options so I can get away pretty easily).
Fortify is allowed to be stacked because it's meant to be played away from not into, it's 4s duration on a 12s cooldown so it's down 75% of the time. You stall, play safe for 4s then you destroy her. Try to pressure her with little resources to bait it out since that ability is insane and most of her value, then if she uses it early and your team doesn't commit and lose any people, you commit in those next TWELVE seconds and she's super reasonable to take care of. It's a great ability but it's a lot of eggs in one basket and extremely punishable when used at a time when the enemy can just safely retreat
Hot Take: Baptiste and Soldier 76 should swap Regenerative Burst and Biotic Field respectfully. Adjust the numbers for both appropriately. Soldier gets to heal while on the run instead of having to stop to do so, effectively fixing the anti synergy of his kit. Bap gets a field that can heal himself, and allies, while also swapping out the burst heal for a healthier heal over time. The size of Biotic Field could potentially be increased as well as having the healing numbers increased. Regenerative Burst potentially could only burst Soldier for 50 HP while only healing allies in Soldier’s AOE for up to 75 HP overtime instead of burst. Soldier would receive 125 HP at max.
Hot take: mythic aspects aren’t as bad as people think they are. Personally my favorite character is widowmaker and since she just got a mythic skin I don’t have a desire to get the other mythic skins. Mythic aspects let me constantly get new colors for my favorite character instead of my prisms just collecting dust. On top of that mythic aspects feel more like a bonus style almost like a prestige tier rather then a lazy recolor. I agree that mythic aspects shouldn’t be 20 mythic prisms but I do like the idea that you can only get them after you complete a mythic skin. It reminds me of pve games that once you 100% you then earn an achievement along side a new look for your character. I think if blizzard keeps the mythic aspects then they need to add new ways of earning mythic prisms or give us character specific challenges to earn those new aspects.
I think push is actually the best overwatch two game mode while it was very hated when it came out I think it is a funner to play payload The maps are bigger allowing for more flanks and angles for dps and support and there isn’t a constant defenders advantage because both teams are defending and attacking
I agree, i think after they cooked the gamemode a bit more its a pretty enjoyable. No hero or comp feels hindered by the map and mode. Im definitely way happier getting push than fucking clash.
I just hate the length of the game at times. Last week the enemy pushed the bot to 95% and somehow over the next 10 minutes we pushed all the way to 96% on OT. I was so happy we won but goddamn that game was so long and stressful.
Honestly I think payload is a great gamemode but push feels like an entirely original overwatch gamemode (it’s not truly original but…) and honestly push can be pretty fun as long as your not on the receiving end of an overwhelming defeat but that’s the same in any mode
Medium-Rare Take: Clash is more fun when there’s a back and forth between the teams. Make it much harder for the attacking team to capture each consecutive point. Or only give points to the attacking team when they capture a point on the opponents’ side of the map
Almost every single clash game for me is either a stomp or a 4-4 with a desperate fight for last point that's basically a coin toss or if one team manages to have ults or something but it just feels boring somehow despite being chaotic
Hot take: ANY format that allows for 2 tanks (6v6, min. 2 in 5v5, whatever) will ALWAYS result in an optimal playstyle where you have at least one main tank, and since almost no one wants to play main tank this will always lead to frustration at the fundamental team comp aspect of overwatch. Whether it's through long queue times or people insta locking and then flaming the rest of the team for not playing tank in the "soft role lock" modes, this issue will always persist.
There’s always an optimal strat that you should be doing but you’re not. Doesn’t matter how many players are in the lobby. This seems pretty irrelevant ngl
Hot Take (maybe): All they need to do for sombra is shift invis from being tied to translocator to being its own ability, maybe a double tap jump activation like hanzo dash, revert hack lockout back to 1.5s, and maybe cut the ult cost by a smidge, maybe 6% instead of 12%, and she'd be perfect, but it feels like she's a brawl hero, and that's like reworking widow into a dive character
Hot take: It feels really rewarding to win a match as a tank that isn’t a popular choice among players (ex. Hog, Doom, Ball, Winston). While it is fun and I do mix up who I play, I tend to stay away from the regular picks most games. I believe that players who typically pick (and rotates) the most popular tanks are just much worse at the game overall. I feel as if they wouldn’t say it, but they know that they have to pick those tanks to win, which invalidates any skill in my opinion.
Hot Take: I DESPISE the cold take "Every loss is your fault" seen in 17:41. Wasn't this basically exact take on the last video? Yes, if all players are actively playing and trying, and you still lose, then the self-reflection is worthwhile to see what you could have done better. But if my teammate goes AFK or starts emoting in spawn after one team fight loss, it is THEIR fault and me looking inwards is not helping make the game better for anyone. My very first Ranked game in OW2 had the Lucio start repeatedly jumping into spawn after a single team fight loss on defense. Identify the real problem, which is the toxic player, then take action by reporting them and hopefully getting them banned. Can we stop this B.S. "hot take" superiority signalling crap to get positive reactions from KarQ? Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
I think you missed the point entirely. Yes, your teammates are going to fuck up. But if you only ever focus on things out of your control and never focus on what you can do better, then you just add to your own problem. Although I agree with you that we shouldnt always take it as "its our own fault". Maybe more of a positive lense such as "if I do this then I can have more carry potential even when I feel my teammates are underperforming".
@@firerusher16 I got the point in however many of these videos I see the same point. Wasn't this in the last video? Maybe it is the same person every time? It is important to assess your own gameplay, but it is also important to hold others accountable for their actions and assign that blame accordingly. The Lucio in my example was 100% at fault, and nothing my team could have done would have stopped him from giving up after literally one fight. That is not just a "f*ck up," as you say, that is intentional throwing and toxic behavior. The community should not just navel gaze and move on, they should actively remove these people from the game. That was my first and last Ranked game in OW2. I will not be held to play bad games just because some player has a temper tantrum from a single lost fight.
@@teamtyrannus4195 The advice could be specific and say "Ranked." What I did not mention was that I never played another Ranked game. That Lucio ruined the competitive integrity of that game, and I decided to never play another one as I sat in spawn emoting with the one teammate who was left afterwards. A fair competitive environment is important to me, so a game that cannot provide that (ie, by immediately cancelling the match) is not one I will play. One single OW2 Ranked game in S1 is my entire career, so I will be doing no "climbing" at all.
@@paulatreides77 people that intentionally throw are horrible I agree. And yes again your teammates are going to make mistakes, but how many people actually respond productively when you call them out on it? Not many in my experience. Better to just focus on what you can control. At least thats whats worked for me
I just think orisa gold should be more like torb overheat (or whatever it's called). faster movement, no cc immunity, and she gets the overhealth and reduced heat on her gun. I know suggesting stuff isn't that helpful but this is just something that I've been thinking about lately.
Yes they buffed Mercy in S12, she went back to 60 hp/s and +30% damage boost. It broke almost no breakpoints. It was mostly just QoL change making her slightly better in the world of DPS passive and higher health pools. Also yeah, the person thinking damage boost is broken forget if she's damage boosting she's not doing damage herself like any other support. It's no more unhealthy to get 3k damage boosted as Mercy than an Ana, Bap, Kiri, Juno etc ... doing 3k damage. If anything the Rez is the most unhealthy thing, but even then it's still at least roughly comparable to the invulnerability abilities or get out of jail free abilities like a clutch Ana nade, Bap Lamp, Kiri Suzu etc... it's just those are more proactive to prevent a death than to undo a death, which have their own pros and cons. Like a Rez still means tempo for the team at advantage and requires Mercy to stop healing/ damage boosting to get the Rez, whereas the other abilities can still keep active pressure on the enemy team. Though I won't disagree it does feel subjectively worse when an enemy Rez goes off than a Lamp
Damage boost isn’t broken because of the damage you’ll do over a course of time. It’s broken because it breaks the game with burst damage. This is pretty simple stuff
Due to how bad the defender spawn advantage used to be on Clash, I have definitely reverse swept an enemy team. The problem with Clash is that it feels bad if I lose to the sweep, and it feels bad to win in the reverse sweep, though I am not sure why that is? Hell, I would rather play Push than Clash, and that is saying a LOT for me.
Feels like the guy telling about Winston ult hasn't even played him properly. It's a very great defensive tool that allows monkey to overextend after using all CD for another ~6 seconds to get a few kills and escape then
I personally also really love clash, almost all matches I had were pretty close (obviously there are some outliers) but it can swing quickly and is very fun since its non stop action. As to the take on blaming the matchmaker, I sometimes write "whats this matchmaker smh" if I feel the enemy has someone thats just leagues better or the entire team diffs ours but I am aware its most likely just that they are having a good match, everyone does sometimes, still hate when there is a widow on the enemy team thats so accurate you cant peek for what feels like a milisecond though, you can play around it somewhat but depending on what your team/ theri team does with it you are screwed since the eniter game revolves around that widow at that point and if they are good it can very much feel like you cna't do anything at all if you don't have a similar widow to sniper duel them.
Hot take: Sombra is fine. I have climbed through gold and most of plat this season on her almost exclusively. 10 hours of play time with a 63% win rate, it’s simply a skill and learning curve issue for the masses.
Orisa is maybe not problematic in the grand scheme. That being said, when orisa does anything, i get unreasonably angry. Her whole thing is that you cant stop her unless shes dead but at the same time she has some of the most durdling abilities in the game. The spin and fortify are so much value in tons of situations but that value doesnt kill me. Her gun is a supersoaker and it doesnt kill me. It is frustrating to lose to a hero that is essentially just staring at me. The pin kills me frequently but my point is its not fun to lose to someone who by all accounts, just sat there and pressed abilities. Orisa, purely from a design standpoint, is without a doubt the easiest hero to play.
Hot take: when Orisa was given zero fall off damage to her primary fire, it was because the balancing team, at the time, didn't know how to deal with snipers rolling lobbies. Kind of like when they gave Cassidy damage reduction on his roll/ult to deal with Tracer bomb.
Hot Take: Certain characters presence in the game acts as a feature of balancing itself, and the current season (season 13) proves that. Sombra sucks bootyhole, and now characters with great vertical mobility are eating a too much. Other examples of "balancing act characters" could be Brig, Bastion, or Torb. Effectively, some characters cannot be balanced on their own, and need something that can counteract what they do to make them balanced.
I dislike flashpoint so much i figured put how to quit the map while the loading screen is still up. Options button, up once, x then wait for the mandatory 5 sec timer. That mode is overwatch at its worst.
Hot take: they should test more outrageous hero reworks, more than Mirrorwatch, either a new take on their abilities and/or swapping roles like Ball, Mauga, Hog on DPS instead of Tanks, Venture, Mei on Tank, illiari on DPS and so on. Maybe we could find a way better version of a hero if we try new stuff, not just number tweeks or a trap abillity + Would alleviate the 5v5 issues some of these characters have. and in regards to "Just make a new character at this point" then we'll never solve bad designs if we don't try, that's what reworks are for, we could leave DPS Doom on the game and make Tank Doom another character, same with old orisa but we didn't. TL DR: they should test new stuff, even trying a new role for that character.
Honestly sometimes I have games where someone locks cas and just runs it down main holding w until they die pushing past our frontline everyone fight, walks in first while we’re still regrouping every fight fighting a legit 1v5 before it’s even possible to help him and I’ll blame that guy for the loss every time. When it legit looks like and may actually be throwing I’m not blaming myself lol
Hot take: Even after the re-rework, people are gonna complain even more about sombra. Yeah, perma stealth wasn't the greatest to play against (and even to sombra herself, last season she had to jump so many loops to be able to do stuff) Now cause the stealth its on a timer, she can do more damage (or burst it even faster). Wait until sombra player learn the animation cancel to actually use the 1 sec duration of hack to burst their target, then we are gonna hear again people complaining about sombra
Hot take 2: I think orisa is a more annoying version of ram they are both brawl poke tanks with no fall of projectiles and a damage resistance ability However orisa is always in ram form and also has cc and can eat nearly every ability in the game and has a gap close
Hot take: I don't need Blizzard to *grace* us with new modes. I just need new maps. Clash is painful to play, Push is annoying to play, and Flashpoint is migraine generating.
I dont get the hate on any of the new modes. clash is a great time and feels centered around team battles. Push is basically a payload you both have to push. Some of my favorite games were on push. Flash point, while i hated it in silver has become a good fun game. Why do these game modes get people in a funk?
@@Potato_Tomato-od2lzall 3 of the modes you mentioned have symmetrical maps. Symmetric maps are inherently more boring than asymmetric maps. When you release 3 modes and all the maps are symmetrical, which likely require less effort, that just shows the devs teams laziness. The worst escort maps are better than 90% of new mode maps. As much as I hate Havana, Circuit, Junkertown for being widow dominant, these maps are more interesting. Then you have maps like Kings Row which are universally loved.
@@Potato_Tomato-od2lz yeah and control maps are probably the least popular out of the old game modes because it’s so snowbally. It was overshadowed by 2CP in Overwatch 1 tho.
I actually dont mind playing Clash now. Flashpoint annoys me really only for 1 reason... running to the next point after 1 point is captured is painful. 2-3 players from your team end up getting split for 1 flanker while the rest of the time is running to the next objective, or any other variant of this. Once the point is captured and the other team needs to go there from spawn I really don't mind the mode
Hot take: the only real problem with 2cp was that it had poorly designed maps. Awful chokes and narnia spawns alone account for a lot of the gamemodes' woes.
Can you explain how few people queuing gor tanks i crease the time to play as tank? Because as I understand if we have less tanks, they should be entering games faster since there is less people in the queue...
Fewer active tanks to choose from when lobbies are created for matches. Only needing 2 tanks per lobby as opposed to 4 only helps so much when there's only a "handful" of people willing to tank. Also need to consider time of day and rank as well
@@jrdnbly93 ok, but considering only 5v5, if you are a tank player and you queue as tank, you should be picked instantly, right? Because there are a lot more people willing to play as dps or sup... But it's not what we see when we watch streamers like flats or emong... They take several minutes to find a team... If the queue time was due to lack of tank, they should find matches a lot faster, right?
I think that sombra should have 10 seconds long stealth tjat activates by crouching for a second or two, just like baps boots do. Think about it, in most games, how do you activate stealth or sneaking? By crouching.
Hot take: If you can't handle potentially random people to talk "shit" about your gameplay, turn off your coms. It's not like 99% of people use VC anyways unless its comp. And then it is like 30% do. So either way, most people aren't talking to you. And if that gets your mindset down, you're gonna have a real tough time in the real world. Also, LFGs are crucial to the game and the devs are screwing new players over by not giving them a chance to find people to play with on a continuous basis.
I think the issue with chatting shit is that two people with some insecurity are blaming eachother whilst both know they're not convincing the other. It's immature to be a teen/adult without having learnt basic articulation to argue a point without being provocative or a troll, I can hard guarantee that a mistake can be brought to light without making it insulting through a little bit of forethought.
That's the sad thing. You can't even try to communicate or give advice without people taking it the wrong way and risking your account getting banned. That's why you see no one communicate in ow2 as opposed to ow1 which is sad because people have given up trying to win because actually trying to win and communicate can get you banned. Someone got banned by telling their teamates to wrap around Numbani first point and dive some hackers.
@@rkaly7154the fact you think having to waste time in a game where every second matters to try and communicate a point in the least offensive way or get banned is why 99 percent of the communtiy no longer uses voice chat and has killed rank. People are shot in the head in video game but people have been banned for litteraly saying wrap around on nubani first point
@@erin_rose0if you don't want to hear that person complaining about you, a. First objetively look at what they are saying? Are they correct? If so than fix it. If option b, than either correct them and offer a suggestion to winning and if they don't listen or continue being wrong either have a civil conversation or don't engage with them because it's a waste of time. The fact people would rather report than communicate is the reason I haven't had a single comeptive game where both teams are fully communicating and doing their best to win in rank since ow1. It's sad. Rank is meant to be comeptive. As a team your meant to be communicating and figuring out what's going wrong lmao.
Spicy take here- junk rat should NOT be allowed to control his tire after his death it makes looking for him a waste of time and even if you do the tire finds you and blows you up if he does die blow the tire up where it is at he still gets credit and it makes sense to look for him otherwise it’s just a no risk ult
Hot take: Most people dont understand that the "tank diff" they see on the scoreboard, is a result of a "team-diff" rather then a tank differensial. This is true specially when it comes to kills and assists as a tank player as the tanks scoreboard-performance is heavily reliable on the performance of the other team-members, specially the dps.
I agree mostly but sometimes it’s definitely a tank problem there not unblamable sometime it will genuinely be a tank diff or tank just throwing the match but the other times yes it’s the dps most likely not understanding that they also need to be “supporting” their tank to help them get kill and help hold space.
Hot Take: I dont really care that Orisa is meta. I started playing in May, hover around Plat/Diamond support. All the Orisa or even Mauga doomerism and 'microbuffs' makes me not to want to watch of the creators that do that shit. Most matchups come down to a skill gap, not a counter.
Some of these takes show the underlying problem the devs unfortunately face and how people view overwatch. For example Winstons Ult. Lets say half the people that play think its trash (though its not) and half the people understand it and know it is great. You have 2 extremes, how are the devs supposed to balance it? They making it easier to use and take away power now top players say winston is unplayable. You dont touch it and leave it be and you have half the people saying the devs dont know how to make a game. Lol its an impossible situation to be in, esp when the loudest of the community members are the one who are the most ignorant on the way the game works.
The dirty secret is they only sorta kinda care what ppl think, but really they will do what they think is best. That's their right anyway and I applaud it. If they keep selling what they make and earn money, then it's working. Publicly they express desire to listen to players, which is also the right move. Can't be honest about how they do what they want cuz its their damn game, or ppl will be even worse. It's just PR, cuz PR is proven works.
Since Winston Ult keeps coming up. Can we admit that the redeeming factor is its high Skill Cieling, and its problem is its high Skill Floor? It's amazing if you have practiced it and have good mechanics. It's trashassbootycheecks for new and average players because it has no inherent or immediate value. The value comes exclusively from skill.
Hot take : Just get rid of widow and hanzo. If it's getting to the point that snipers ruin the game that the Devs are having to rework the map, they should just take the L and take them out the game. Go play a regular shooter if you wanna hold the same angle all day
glad i’m not the only one who thinks orisa is fun to play 😂 i hated her in OW1 but she’s so fun in OW2! her spear is my favorite skill shot to hit in the game i snipe people across the map with it 😂
first take is just wrong. The worst part of the matchmaker is feeling like there can never just be two good teams. Either my team sucks or the enemy team sucks. I actually prefer losing in overwatch because it usually means my impact is what makes the game close, whereas winning just feels like I could have emoted in spawn and it wouldn't have mattered.
the take complaining about clash is exactly because of this matchmaker flaw^ notice they mention that they're playing QP where the matchmaker is the worst.
idk about you but when I win I usually feel like it was a direct result of me playing well and the opposite for when I lose. I do play tank so I get I’m probably biased there since tanks are objectively high impact, but is this not how other roles feel?
Re the metal rank eu take: advice like 'sombra (pre public execution) becomes useless with basic teamwork'. Cool. My tank, dps and other support dont speak the same language as me. I think one of them is calling me a slur and I cant tell what language in bc the mic's awful, but based on precident its probably french. So im supposed to ask them for help with the flankers? Cool.
Hot take: players with the higher hero progression level should be able to take heros at start of round. For example if both supports wanted to play moira, but one of them has played 3 games and the other has played 100s, but the new player has that half second faster connection and snags her first. The more experienced player should have the option(but only once at the start of the match before the door opens) to take over and force them to swap. Im not saying I think people should one trick...but they do, and I'd personally rather have the better suited player have the option of playing the character.
Hot take: habitually saying "gg" is toxic. "Gg" comes off as either performative and ingenuine (neutral) at best, or as sarcastic (negative) at worst. I personally only say gg when i mean it, and with added emphasis ("legit gg" or "actual gg").
Hot Take: Junkrat takes more skill than widow. Widow's usefullnes comes from her sniping and oneshot abilities which is just a point and shoot which is pretty easy to do with only a bit of playing fps games. As for junkrat you have to execute your abilities with good timing (especially after the health buff) and positioning is a key part of junkrat playstyle, also the primary fire is a projectile and is harder to hit. I think that junkrat is given the "easy to play" title because of people spamming and getting kills where as widow is only good if you can hit your shots.
I'm of the opinion theres a difference between trash talking and being an asshole. The fun in trash talking is when you're both doing if it's one sided whats the point? I mean I met some of my best friends talking shit for an hour straight in a cod lobby before they removed them
Very cool seeing my take being spicy enough to get the thumbnail/title spotlight with KarQ still agreeing with it (definitely expected chat's response from it lol) I also made sure to use wording that made it clear it was just my own preference since I knew it was a heated one. Just saying "in my opinion" goes a very long way, folks To go a little deeper, I do think the OW1 modes are still very good, but I think Clash/Flashpoint are very clearly designed to fit how *OW2 specifically* plays, and that's what makes them so great in my eyes. Hybrid is a wonderful mode and _can_ be very exhilarating, but it can also can drag on and getting stomped in it feels especially bad because you either get no chance to make a comeback (Quickplay) or have to wait for the round to be over just to attempt your comeback (Comp) which by that point you or your teammates may already have a bad mental of the match. Clash/Flashpoint are one match, no breaks, and so you can immediately feel a comeback when you start it instead of being forced to wait your turn. And, at absolute worst, Clash/Flashpoint typically last less than 10 minutes anyways, so if you get rolled you're not wasting your time, whereas a Hybrid match lasts at _least_ 8-10 minutes (in comp) even if you're getting steamrolled
Hot take: Symmetra should've stayed as a support and Sombra should've been released as a support. If they would've stayed/released this way, it would've opened up what it means to be a support and helped with healing creep since they don't all need to heal. Sym provided support with teleporter and shields. Sombra could be better balanced around stealth and lower damage since the frustrating part of the kit is that stealth lowers the skill needed to get a kill (which is why she keeps swinging between high and low kill potential). Imagine Baptiste being centered around lamp and damage but little to no healing. Brig could've been the cc hero if she didn't need to heal. Kiri could be centered around Suzu if she didn't also do high damage and healing. Ana could be centered around anti. Etc...
Im sorry but this isn’t a hot take, this is an inferno (and garbage) take. Supports DO need to heal; there shouldn’t be any discussion about that. Even if it’s a small amount of healing per second, all supports need to be able to provide some form of healing for their team. Additionally, this would’ve opened up a WHOLE slew of issues regarding time to kill, damage numbers, tank hp values (nobody is gonna play tank if they have to play with essentially one support that can heal), etc. Discussion about sombra being a support is fun, but she’s supposed to be the stealthy assassin character. Her entire character design is based around that. She wouldn’t work as a support at all. Symmetra could work as a support if she could provide healing, but i’m not sure how they would incorporate that into her kit.
@@aidenbrenneman2302 yes, you can get the speed of flicking and precision of a mouse and when the crosshair is close to an enemy you will also get the benefit of aim assist helping you track and not over flick.
Idk blaming the matchmaking does make sense in a lot of scenarios. Overwatch competitive in particular, does a bad job at measuring skill and motivating players to try and be competitive in every match. If they arent purposefully trying to make my games wonky then theyre doing a bad job of preventing it.
@@michaelpurdon7032 Iv played atleast 5 games this season where Iv had teammates lifeweaver me off the map as tank multiple times in the same game edit: this is becuz so many people actively throw ranked that if you happen to be winning the 4v5 after they got the strats to ramp it up
@@michaelpurdon7032 bro I literally just ended a game where my lifeweaver pulled me into a rein charge and a junkrat tire. While another teammate fed for one half and then left at the start of the next (300 dmg, 1-10). You call it “cope” when it’s real problem
Doomfist, Orisa, and Roadhog all need reworked. The problem with a Tank design like OW2 Orisa is that she focuses entirely on self-sustain, damage, and frequent CC. Tank designs that have self-sustain but no team sustain are straight up unhealthy for the game because it completely disrupts the whole flow of the game compared to when other Tanks are used, to where it feels like you don't even have a Tank on your team; it feels like a 3 DPS + 2 Support comp. And the amount of frequent high burst damage and interrupt-CC Doomfist, Orisa, and Roadhog put out is completely obnoxious to play against.
Why is it that there could never be something wrong with the character itself it always has to be get good or Skill issue? Then people wonder why the game isn't balanced, only what you want matters and anyone else is irrelevant. Just because you use the cheese character or just because you are comfortable with how bad the character can be doesn't mean it has to stay the same
People say skill issue because overwatch is as close to balanced as a game can get. Yea maybe some things can be tweaked as things change, but nothing is completely broken. Players that play ow as well as many different kind of competitive games know the balancing in ow is very good compared to most other competitive games. So hearing a player complaining about balancing in ow immediately discredits them. Not to say they are not right to say something is wrong. But its a 80 percent chance that the person complaining is a skill issue, and 20 percent chance there is genuinely something wrong with what they are complaining about. I am in master support and my sister is in silver. So when she complains about the stuff she does, i know for a fact that it is just because she is not good enough or does not understands the game as much as i do. Even though in her mind her complaint is fact, to someone like me who knows better, its just skill issue. I hope that can help to understand where that skill issue is coming from
@@DoeboyFreshNESSOverwatch will never feel like a balanced game as long as there are hard counters to other heros and play styles. Being forced to swap because your current character was rendered useless will ALWAYS suck. Yeah, maybe pharah isn't overpowerd, but if I like playing brig, junkrat, and reaper, I'm definitely gonna have a horrible time if the other team has a pharah on it.
I say not only seek therapy for being that way, but they should uninstall the game if they don't improve or not play because it's ruining the game. I run into way too many people like that almost each game.

Hot take: Rez should not be in this game. Remove it and give Mercy some mobility buffs. The movement is the most skillfull part of her kit. Rez is just frustating (She can do it through walls its so dumb) and most heroes cant do anything about it
Hot take: Dva shouldn’t be able to jump directly into her mech after being resurrected. I’m tired of dealing with her matrix and booster, only for it to be nullified by a Rez. It would be fair to resurrect her at the percentage she was when she died.
As far as I know she can only get into mech after rez if she already did enough damage out of mech to re-earn it? If the mech still hasn’t been re-earned after losing it and she gets rezzed, she still needs to do damage to get back in
Hot Take: Blizzard are too afraid to change hero believeing a hero identity is attatched to an "core ability" - For example, you could remove the Hack ability of Sombra and blend it into Virus, so it becomes a "Hack" Skillshot (you could also throw Virus into health packs to hack them) and them Split Stealth/Translocator into two abilities - but no, Sombra is all about the Hack ability and they will never change that... 😢
Hot take: genji ult isn’t bad but it’s not good lowkey useless bc I can just one shot without it even with nano it’s better without blade it would probably be better if they give him like a shout buff with it or something idk
Hot take: Sombra isn't that hard to balance. It's so obvious what they should do to balance her! Stealth should be returned as a solo ability (not tied to translocator) and it should be a resource like hog breather or dva matrix that can recharge over time. This gives Sombra her flank play style back and gives devs more ways to tweak her kit to give or take away power. Why aren't more content creators advocating for this!
0:58 KarQ did a pretty good job responding, but like that take is pretty much just pure ignorance. You can't tell someone what to do with their life especially since you don't even know them. Maybe they are just a teenager and will grow out of it, maybe they had a crap day at work, or maybe it doesn't matter. Muting exists for a reason, just block them and move on with yourself, nobody is perfect, and there's no one solution to stop people from being toxic.
Yeah. I think is time we, as a society, stop expecting everybody to treat us perfectly and stop acting like someone treating you slightly badly is just so terrible that you may end your life over it. If a strangers comments make you that sad then you’re just fragile and need to work on yourself. Yes the person needs to be less of an ahole but then you also need to stop crying so much. So technically these people need each other to improve in life. There’s my zenyatta take.
@@SocialExperiment232 A bit aggressive, but yeah that's mostly fair. Some people will also naturally take those comments worse than others, which isn't their fault either. People fail to point out 2 sides: the person naturally being toxic, the the person naturally have a little bit of a fragile ego. Both sides need to do something to improve themselves, not just the one being toxic. It's a life skill to be able to not take insults to heart because it does take a lot of work to get it to that way. Same with the opposing side, it takes a lot of freaking work to train your self to not get emotional over little things in life. This isn't about one side being in the wrong, it's about both sides reflecting the issue to themselves, and working on it. Like you said, they do need each other. People berating me for over a year on Valorant truly helped me reflect and realize I don't give a crap what some random thinks. It hurts at first, but you do grow eventually.
@@blobfish1649 you said it better than me but yeah that’s what I meant. Both parties need to work on controlling their emotions cause it’s a life skill and also part of the skill of competitive gaming. I saw a comment from a dude claiming he stopped playing comp cause people would flame him… it’s sad he was flamed but to quit something you love cause of some people being mad is just not a way to live life. But as you said it also used to bother me, I was 12 when I started playing in cod lobbies and I couldn’t believe the stuff people tell each other but it didn’t take me long to just tune them out. Now if someone’s acting like a crying baby over me not playing perfectly I just think “they’ll get over it”. Also I don’t think someone deserves to lose their account just cause they failed to control themselves a few times.
Hot Take: Widowmaker is THE most nerf hero in all of Overwatch history. The one time ahe was buffed was the projectile size increase, and that was reversed almost immediately. All map changes are always done in a way that nerf her.
I’d argue it really doesn’t matter as long as she’s viable, which she is I will say though I’m someone who doesn’t think widowmaker should even be a hero
I think that no matter how good or bad she is, if the player is good with her she’s not fun to play with or against, and if the player is bad with her she is not fun to play with or against. She’s by far the worst hero purely from a fun standpoint
Definitly one of the biggest reason for me, and i only play qp since i want to chill lol
Yes I liked my own comment 😭
Strange
I notice most of the internet is like this now. The definition of hot take randomly changed at some point lol
Brooo! I've been saying this since episode one! Glad you called him out.
Agreed
@@J.R.Swish1 how would it be impossible, but I don’t agree with the take either
Hot take: Stealth as a mechanic would be much better suited to a support character. I don’t think sombra should be reworked to support, but a stealthy support would have WAY more room between useless and infuriating to be well-balanced.
Hot take (Maybe, maybe not?): The worst thing they did to Orisa was remove her damage falloff. With falloff it gave her a much more well-defined niche as a brawl tank who wanted to get up in the other tank's face and bully them.
lol i just made a hottake about Orisa's damage fall off.
Countertake: That’s far from the worst thing. The real worst thing they did was buff junkrat’s nade damage. Along with the hp changes, junkrat has become way more common in matches, and he’s arguably the least fun hero to play against as a tank main.
this is not even close to a hot take this is objectively her worst change
The worst thing they did to Orisa is add her into the game but besides that, it’s the No headshots during Fortify mechanic. It’s gross and rewards skill-less gameplay. Hitting headshots means you’re a good aimer. If the game doesn’t allow you to express your skill and aim, it’s a garbage game.
@@derpyderpdederp620wrong it’s the no headshots during Fortify mechanic
Oh hey it's my Orisa take. To be a bit more thorough with my opinion on her:
- Javelin throw with its high damage + knockback + micro stun doesn't feel good to get hit by, especially since it comes out basically instantly with no time to react.
I don't play Orisa outside of Mystery Heroes but when I fight her it's ironically the part of her kit I feel the least threatened/annoyed by (granted I tend to play heroes with mobility options so I can get away pretty easily).
if you aren’t able to react to javelin throw that’s a skill issue it’s absolutely reactable
@@solsoman102That's almost like saying getting hit by hanzo is a skill issue because you can dodge arrows
@@FabricatedPheonixyes
U can totally dodge an orisa spear it's not a hitscan ability bro and you can block it in many different ways as well
Hot Take: Baptiste and Soldier 76 should swap Regenerative Burst and Biotic Field respectfully.
I think push is actually the best overwatch two game mode while it was very hated when it came out I think it is a funner to play payload
The maps are bigger allowing for more flanks and angles for dps and support and there isn’t a constant defenders advantage because both teams are defending and attacking
I agree, i think after they cooked the gamemode a bit more its a pretty enjoyable. No hero or comp feels hindered by the map and mode.
Im definitely way happier getting push than fucking clash.
Agree, it's so much better than Flashpoint and Clash
Yeah, similar experience myself, it either feels like a 3 minute roll, or an owcs match, it's fucking awful
If you’re a supp learning how to juggle and predict ult economy is a game changer it got me out of that type of hell
I really enjoy Clash tbh. I don't see many stomps anymore
The correct take would be that not being able to climb is on yourself. Individual losses can be anyone's fault.
@@teamtyrannus4195 The advice could be specific and say "Ranked."
What I did not mention was that I never played another Ranked game.
Hot take 2: I think orisa is a more annoying version of ram they are both brawl poke tanks with no fall of projectiles and a damage resistance ability
However orisa is always in ram form and also has cc and can eat nearly every ability in the game and has a gap close
Hot take:
I don't need Blizzard to *grace* us with new modes.

@@Potato_Tomato-od2lz yeah and control maps are probably the least popular out of the old game modes because it’s so snowbally. It was overshadowed by 2CP in Overwatch 1 tho.
Oh Koji, I'll get you back for that.
Hot take: Mauga/Dva, Echo, Pharah, Mercy and Life Weaver is one of the worst enemy comps, I promise you nothing dies.
Yh clash is very fun those who hate it just can't play it and it's new
Love the content
@@erin_rose0 you are also a good part of the issue with comments like that
That's the sad thing.
Hot take: if the full PvE game was gonna be half as fun as the junkenstiens lab game mode we missed out harder than we thought
Spicy take here- junk rat should NOT be allowed to control his tire after his death it makes looking for him a waste of time and even if you do the tire finds you and blows you up if he does die blow the tire up where it is at he still gets credit and it makes sense to look for him otherwise it’s just a no risk ult
They would need to buff him then
Lol it's a really bad ult tho why nerf it more
You can already break it pretty easily, it does not need nerfed
Bronze take more like it. Why nerf one of the worst ults in the damage class.😂
Bro that thumbnail catching me with the most outrageous take.
That's why they don't balance off of forum sentiment
Since Winston Ult keeps coming up. Can we admit that the redeeming factor is its high Skill Cieling, and its problem is its high Skill Floor?
It's amazing if you have practiced it and have good mechanics. It's trashassbootycheecks for new and average players because it has no inherent or immediate value. The value comes exclusively from skill.
Hot Take: Orisa should never be meta. Whenever Orisa is meta, it only ruins the game.
Talking shit is funny , being disrespectful is 👎🏽
Where your line is on which of those is which is personal though, impossible to know where for everyone you meet in game.
the fine line is when the other know you're not serious, so when he's a close friend. Hence, talking shit to strangers cannot be funny
Talking shit is disrespectful
@@JayFox128not when it’s obvious friendly banter vs threats
Hot take : Just get rid of widow and hanzo. If it's getting to the point that snipers ruin the game that the Devs are having to rework the map, they should just take the L and take them out the game. Go play a regular shooter if you wanna hold the same angle all day
3:30 yo ... they absolutely cooked with this one tho XD
Hot take Cassidy should get a reset on his roll each time he gets a kill.
glad i’m not the only one who thinks orisa is fun to play 😂 i hated her in OW1 but she’s so fun in OW2! her spear is my favorite skill shot to hit in the game i snipe people across the map with it 😂
first take is just wrong.
I enjoy clash. I’d play it all day over Flashpoint
I feel like clash is HEAVILY dictated by ult economy
I can understand hating phara, but all projectile heros? There are so many different playstyles within that bracket of heros.
I once had a clash game that lasted 22 minutes 😂
6:37 learn to swap? Overwatch players don't do that silly.
:53 squeeze one out spotted
Hot Take: Playing Kiriko feels bad to play she gets outclassed by most other supports and is really just used to hard counter ana.
thats for sure a hot take 🤣
What is ur kunia crit accuracy %? lol
I'm of the opinion theres a difference between trash talking and being an asshole. The fun in trash talking is when you're both doing if it's one sided whats the point? I mean I met some of my best friends talking shit for an hour straight in a cod lobby before they removed them
Very cool seeing my take being spicy enough to get the thumbnail/title spotlight with KarQ still agreeing with it (definitely expected chat's response from it lol)
I also made sure to use wording that made it clear it was just my own preference since I knew it was a heated one. Just saying "in my opinion" goes a very long way, folks
To go a little deeper, I do think the OW1 modes are still very good, but I think Clash/Flashpoint are very clearly designed to fit how *OW2 specifically* plays, and that's what makes them so great in my eyes.
Etc...
I don't see this working in any way. It's a solution looking for a problem
Burning Take: Quick Play or not Ximmers should be perma banned from this game. It's a form of cheating equal to steroid use in sports
Correct me if I’m wrong isn’t ximming just using a mouse and keyboard on console?
@@aidenbrenneman2302 yes, you can get the speed of flicking and precision of a mouse and when the crosshair is close to an enemy you will also get the benefit of aim assist helping you track and not over flick.

Idk blaming the matchmaking does make sense in a lot of scenarios. Overwatch competitive in particular, does a bad job at measuring skill and motivating players to try and be competitive in every match. If they arent purposefully trying to make my games wonky then theyre doing a bad job of preventing it.

16:20 They mean that the devs should show their gameplay of them testing out balance changes and new characters
Hot take:: winston needs buff.
Giving him pre patched armor would make him strong enough
I hope that can help to understand where that skill issue is coming from
@@DoeboyFreshNESS well said
@@DoeboyFreshNESSOverwatch will never feel like a balanced game as long as there are hard counters to other heros and play styles. Being forced to swap because your current character was rendered useless will ALWAYS suck. Yeah, maybe pharah isn't overpowerd, but if I like playing brig, junkrat, and reaper, I'm definitely gonna have a horrible time if the other team has a pharah on it.
Hot take, these takes often prove just how clinically brain dead the community is
I say not only seek therapy for being that way, but they should uninstall the game if they don't improve or not play because it's ruining the game. I run into way too many people like that almost each game.
WTF is 2CP. Sincerely every ow2 player that didn't play OW1
U capture 2 points as attack. It had nice map design.
It’s control except they was only two points and there was no back-and-fourth, just attack team and defend team

Hot take: Rez should not be in this game. Remove it and give Mercy some mobility buffs. The movement is the most skillfull part of her kit. Rez is just frustating (She can do it through walls its so dumb) and most heroes cant do anything about it
i’m fine with flashpoint but clash is just control if control was dogshit
Wow that's a sensitive censor.
karq look good ngl
Hot take: Dva shouldn’t be able to jump directly into her mech after being resurrected. I’m tired of dealing with her matrix and booster, only for it to be nullified by a Rez.
It would be fair to resurrect her at the percentage she was when she died.
YES BRO!💯
So rezzing dva should be useless? Thats like rezzing all other tanks st 200 hp, theyll just explode
Because it's an even bigger nerf

I will say though I’m someone who doesn’t think widowmaker should even be a hero
