    Was your cloud painting done in approximately same time as your video (not counting the background)? Was wondering if you use any type of additive or extender to keep the acrylic from drying on your palette during that painting time? Any advice on this? Thank you!

    • @ColorByFeliks
      @ColorByFeliks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Linda, good question. Yes, my paintings are all done in real time...I'm not pausing the camera to add anything in. Everything that you see here is what I am doing. I never use any additives or extenders just water and I only mix the colors for the section I am currently working on that is what helps me be able to keep my paints wet. It also helps to keep your palette organized with the shades you will be using

    Well start I kno I know if I'm going to smoke if I'm going to paint a smaller area I need a smaller brush I know I'm going to need water to clean my brush but I know I'm going to lose paper towels so all of that to me seems to be unnecessary

    Feliks Thank you so much.. I have been working on a sunset painting and have not archived the effect i wanted.Your tutorial has given me exactly what i need. That is the dark cloud above, bright colors below and a glow coming from within the clouds. There are not many artists who have captured what you have. Your technique of using the mop brushes is excellent and so carefully demonstrated. You are very talented and hard working I wish you great success for the future. Thank you for sharing in such a caring way

    I'm curious..people watching this... do you watch the whole thing then try? Or try to follow along real time? Or follow and pause follow and pause? The background took me so long I had to stop, and had no way to cover the pallette, so had to wash them away and start again with new paint for the clouds.

    Hi, when you used the blending brush, so that colors don’t turn to mud, wouldn’t it be a good idea to frequently rub/brush that dry brush off on a paper towel? It would keep your wet paint from globbing up on your dry brush. That’s what I’d do.

  • @doumkatekz

    What I simply love is that you don't use medium or gesso or solvent or thinner or retardant or anything fancy like Alexander Art and his clones use. Just acrylic paint and water and a generous canvas every time, rather than hanky-sized pieces of paper and miniature dabs of paint.

      Hi sometimes I use light molding paste mixed with my acrylics to create texture but I don’t like to use any mediums keep paint from drying quickly. I don’t like the effect and the outcome, every time I tried using it, it always ended up looking chunky and glossy in some areas. But it might be different for you. Thank you, amazing. For the trace of the clouds I saw two faces, first a man with a big nose, second face behind the man was a lady with big lips…. I tried to do the bleeding as you did although l kind of like the brush strokes, looks more organic. 👌💕

    first off thank you so much. you are a great teacher. one thing I would consider, and it might just be that im too slow......but mixing all the cloud shades before putting the cloud sketch on used me to throw out all the mixes twice as it dried before I could get to it. just food for though! thank you again!

    By the way this is a beautiful beautiful painting. Is the light source coming from the L or the bottom? Thank you.

    The sky is all the colors you want to paint it except green. The green sky is only seen in aurora borealis.

    I like your tutorials because you show the 1and1 point so that I could paint easily in detail other painting tutorials show only the painting not the outline .

    In that cloud looks like a smile face (the white paint). Was that deliberate 😋? Wow, that yellow really does make it pop.

    Beautiful, it looks like the clouds did when all the dust was in the atmosphere in 2020 causing amazing colors like that.
