Placebo donated all his money from his concert in Chile after the big earthquake in the same country. They were invited for the president himself at the palace as well. Thatz Placebo, besides a great music rock band, it's a great music rock band full of humanity and humble's instance
All *_their_* money from *_their_* concert in Chile... Placebo is band with two members - vocalist/guitarist Brian Molko & guitarist/bassist Steven Olsdal. Steve Hewitt (10 years) & then Steve Forrest (8 years) were with the band on drums, but they are now a duo. My point is, Placebo have always been a band & not a solo artist, so referring to them as "him" is incorrect.
I think that the person here only made a mistake, since they talks about Chile, probably speaks Spanish, in Spanish "they" it would be "su", which is singular and plural, so renton90 only made a mistake with the pronoun. Also said "they were invited" lol
I showed this to my students to wrap up a lesson about pollution and its consequences... and they loved it. Twenty years ago I was a socially-awkward, hopeless, angsty black-clad teen and a Placebo lover. Never ever thought one day I would be a teacher and show one of their videos to other confused teens like I was - for a class. Thanks Placebo.
This is honestly one of the best cover songs I've ever heard. They've turned this dark fable into a tale of modern times...and it's gloriously tragic! Well done. And thank you for making me aware.

Worthy cover, well done Placebo. Love the anticapitalist message. Love went into this cover and it shows. Africa never flourished to the level that it deserved to. Lets be honest, life's what you make it, but you cannot help in what environment or situation youre born into...
It's a tall order to cover a Talk Talk song, but Placebo nail it beautifully in their own style. They also cover 'Running up that Hill' and Nik Kershaws 'Wouldn't it be good ', beautifully ❤️
I love Placebo & this cover, but nothing is better than the original Talk Talk song, by the peerless Mark Hollis. It is a raw & touching song of his, beautifully arranged. Neither band is better than the other, they are unique & special :)

actually Samsara does have a prequel too. I think it is titled Baraka or something similar. After having watched that Samsara was a bit like - well, exactly the same as Baraka. But! If you like eye-openers, try Koyaanisquatsi. Both the movie and the music is equally shocking.
Blossomeli Do you mean "Baraka" by chance? As for video style, I see strong parallels to Dead Can Dance's awesome "Host of Seraphim". It's a very sad and beautiful song.
Baraka was the third movie Fricke directed, when he was still searching his style. In Samsara, 19 years later he made his point so much clearer.
