Just got mine today. Same thing happened with the hole in the manual and the styrofoam! Transportation vibe is a b*tch... Hope you're happy with it - thanks for the video!
I bought this a few weeks ago from Gritomatic , I had the same mouse eaten manual 😂, The angle adjustment makes it worth it over the older model , I’m very happy with it so far , I have the Venev Centuar stones and the upgraded stone holders, I feel your pain with the styrofoam man that stuff sucks , They should use foam inserts would be nice 👍
I wonder if we can swap the allen screws on the clamp with thumb knobs so that the whole sharpener could essentially become tool-less. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to do, and I would imagine that thumb knobs would provide enough tension to lock down a knife.
Worth a shot if you could find the right screws... Definitely going to be metric. Personally I use my little hex bit ratchet and a wiha hex bit for the clamps.
Got mine this week. So far so good. I am very happy with it! Very well machined and all quality. The diamond stones aren’t horrible but will be getting more stones soon. Putting an order together from gritomatic. Any must haves you recommend?
The Hapstone Premium CBN stones are the hottest stones out right now I do believe. They do need dressing so you would wanna order a stone lapping setup, glass platen and various lapping powders.
I have the wicked edge as well, but there’s nothing wrong with having something else to use for the same purpose and maybe even be a little bit better😮which remains to be seen, so I haven’t actually ordered my sharpening kit from TSPROF yet, but the wicked edge pretty much does it all. I’ll definitely be keeping my wicked edge because it’s a great sharpening kit. When I first used it compared to other ways of sharpening knives you just know that it’s a game changer and I’m sure that this new one will maybe even bring a little bit more to the sharpening table!!!👌🥴😝😎😉
I said I was gonna keep my wicked edge too, pretty sure it was sold about 3 days after making this video 🤣 Wicked Edge is a good system that requires way too much effort to use... Too many fatal flaws in the design, I can't say I regret having owned one for the experience but I can't say I will be buying another in the future either... It's kinda like a german car, over engineered to the point of being a pain in the ass.
I Like it a lot.. Its hard for me to remember to set the stome thickness compensator after using a wicked edge for 5 years but Im glad I made the change... The Edge Pro Matrix diamonds are amazing...
@@knifeknerdreviews4609 I can see how it would be easy to overlook the thickness compensation. Glad to hear you like . Makes it easier to drop the cash on it.
I was seriously considering the older version since it’s on sale now, but for sure will be getting the newest pro version. Thanks for the unboxing!
It really looks very well machined. i like the dual clamp set up. Great video 👍

Its a superb little machine, I jad a wicked edge for years and like it's not even close, the Kadet wins.

You could if you are willing to sacrifice the clearance.
Anything sticking up will get in the way of the stones. However, if you flip the clamps and put thumb screws on the bottom, that might work.

where did your TSPROF ship from?
How about the base? Too small/unstable?

I am looking at this sharpener. Have you tried any full flat blades? Just wondering how they clamp.
Its good just put 3 or 4 layers of blue tape by the spine to shim it.
@@knifeknerdreviews4609 thanks for the reply. I'm definitely ordering one.
