      I'm impressed how fast they were there though Grosjean thankfully pretty much got out by himself. But I think the doctor guiding him out was important too even if I don't know if it made much difference and of course getting his burns taken care of as fast as possible. Makes me wonder what they would have done if he had been unconscious or stuck, though good we didn't have to find out.

    It is saddening to think that Dr. Kelvin Chew and Dr. Ian Roberts were likely in the medical centre, at Spa, doing all they could to keep Antoine from passing. I know doctors often deal with fatal injuries, and you can imagine that these guys have probably grown to love the sport whilst working for the FIA, but I give massive respect to them for being able to carry on doing their jobs after witnessing a casualty in something they’ll likely be passionate about. This, plus the fact that they’ll also have Juan Manuel Correa in the back of their minds, hoping that he can make a full recovery. RIP Antoine Hubert and get well soon Juan Manuel Correa. I’d like to say thank you to any and all medical staff who are always on hand to assist the drivers, so that we can all enjoy this wonderful sport.

    Soft guitar music during a scene from a noisy F1 paddock. Doesn't really fit 😅

    I wonder why the have the C63S, it's a great car, but wouldn't the E63S, or even maybe the GT 4 door be faster and thus more appropriate? Or maybe they put the 600+bhp engine in this one, but it's only 2WD, so it's going to be limited by traction...
    Also, a quick fact: Alan Van Der Merwe, the driver, is the fastest F1 pilot on the grid: he took a modified Honda-BAR F1 to more than 400 kph on the Bonneville salt flats. No other driver has had the opportunity to drive a car this fast, even in Le Mans.

      Agree on the traction consideration. And if not the E63s Estate, even the C43 Estate would be an excellent consideration as it's AWD....unless AMG really wants to flex the V8 rumble which is understandable.

    Why does F1 have a universal marshal and emergency response team like Indy car? Surely a specially built team would be better.

      TDavy1 It’s probably the cost I suspect. They’d have to fly this crew all over the world to 21 races.

      response times.
      So every marshall post can do it, before the medical car arrives, if time is essential.
      There are a lot of doctors at the marshall posts (have other colored suits in general), so they can do it by themself if needed and can judge if they have the time to wait for the medical car.
      Additionally they aren't untrained volunteers without experience.

    At these speeds, the cars want to go airborne so they lower the carriage as close to the ground as they can and that can trigger disasters as it did for Senna. Maybe these exhibitions are not really necessary.......Where does the money go ? never enough to the drivers who risk their lives every time they race. The owners always win........

      @@OllyMB according to, you, the FIA? Why would we need a faster car, I think if Van Der Merwe had raised concerns to the FIA or Michael Masay that there is somthing deficient in the current medical car they would. Is there a issue with the current one that needs to be addressed, or is this just a personal preference. Why fix a problem that isnt there.

      Die GT 63 is a grand coupé. The trunk isnt as large. A E 63 T model would be the next best. (The GT 63 has btw a E chassis.)

    • @OllyMB
      @OllyMB 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AmbientMike it has been said a few times that the current medical car is slower the the F1 car and they need something faster, now obviously the GT63s isn’t as fast as a f1 car but seem like a obvious upgrade from the e-class, overall it’s a bigger car so way more storage.
