The CBBC rebrand has arrived! But Russia's plans overlapped with the BBC's, and the CBBC has to change the tone of their programming to warn the viewers of what is going on.

Honestly this is legitimately terrifying. Just think about it for a moment. One minute you’re enjoying your favorite shows the next minute there’s a dumbed down version of a nuclear attack warning. Most kids above the age of 7 know what a nuclear weapon is so they’d start to panic.

That's really neat how they it talks to the children in a calm manner and also says to find an adult.
In America here we'd still get that loud freaky EAS buzzer and traumatize the poor kids.
This is a sweet concept and a nicely spooky idea. I think some of the phrasing took me out of it though - things like "Russia wants to make us British people suffer" feels redundant and is a more propagandistic tone than the beeb usually takes. "since they can help out during this problem" is also slightly stilted phrasing and the sentence would be just as effective without it. That said, like other commenters have mentioned, the slightly gentle and simple tone works so well to prey on that adult fear... love it

We really need more EAS scenarios on kids channels! I have only found two others. This type of stuff makes me cry because I grew up with this and Cebeebies, so I imagine myself at age 8 or something sitting in front of my favourite shows, and suddenly getting the news that there would be a nuclear bomb. I was a fairly sheltered and innocent child, so I don't think I knew exactly how bad a nuclear bomb was. I can just picture my parents rushing around and trying to build a shelter, panicking and trying to reassure me. As someone who grew up with autism and a few other mental problems/defects/illnesses, I was prone to panic attacks and I cried A LOT. Needless to say, if this had come on when I was a kid, I would have shat myself.

The kids channel scenarios are like honestly the BEST because it’s just all the more heartbreaking and chilling

Personally, I think if the real situation happen, they should show a "Please tune to BBC News Channel" card and don't show such a thing like this.

It would probably give a little announcement about what is going on before switching to BBC1, or the screen will go black with the message:
"Please Switch To BBC 1 for important information." Or something close to when the Queen and Diana died.

They literally explained nukes in the most understatement of what they really are.
Holy 💩! I remember watching Saturday morning cartoons in the 90s (I live in the US) and suddenly getting treated to a surprise EBS alert due to a severe thunderstorm or tornado threat or when I lived in Florida, Hurricane Warning! I still remember my dad using DUCT TAPE to seal up our windows in case the Hurricane hits (FYI: Don't do what he did. Your windows will still break.)
I like how you've used toned down vocabulary to help children understand. However, like @sanBRITE said, it would be more realistic to show something like "CBBC has went off the air to broadcast a special announcement on behalf of the BBC, please tune into a BBC News Channel."
Still a really good scenario nonetheless!

I am honestly terrified and incredibly heartbroken. I hardly bump into EAS mocks that are specifically broadcasted to minors??? Imagining the confused and horrified looks on their faces while their parents are speed running on how to build a shelter makes me feel so overwhelming for my heart to handle somehow 😭😭😭 GREAT VIDEO!!! 🤍🤍
and their little selves frantically running to save their favourite stuffed toys and stuff it just makes me so sad to think about.
