@@m4c1990 the answer is that they don't have the right to. But it's worse for PR if they aggressively pursue every TH-camr who's ever uploaded a Nintendo game. And I'm sure that they figure that they're not actually losing that much money from these videos. So, they just decide that it's not worth it to go after all these people because they're not losing that much money and they might lose more from the bad PR of pursuing everything.
Maybe they made the sound so bad that you're encouraged to beat it faster

Fun fact: The interval between the original two pitches of the coin sound was a perfect 4th, which sounds harmonic (perfect??) but here it is a tritone, which sounds ¡horrible!

Yeah youtube has funny ways of hiding stuff and not hiding stuff. Some videos can only be viewed from playlists
I think the reason is the video was uploaded as “unlisted”, not “private”. Unlisted videos can be watched if you have their link, which is provided from the “public” playlist.

For SMW you don't need this - SMW theme in minor key already comes with the game, IIRC in some ghost houses.
If instead of overpromising on challenge, they had just titled it "Bleeding Ears", it would probably be pretty well received. Looked like a pretty decent hack, even if very short.
The most impressive stuff here is not beating this "skill player only" game.
But surviving playing it with these sounds on headphones !

not really painting the whole picture. There's nothing wrong with firebars, but ones that rotate counter clockwise are less common. Was jus explaining my thought process, that's all.
This hack was made for the Power Glove.
I like to think of the music less as "bad" and more as "having jazz harmony"
Kosmic, if you own both NES remix 1 and 2 on Wii U, you get access to Super Luigi Bros, an official hack of SMB where the game is backwards and Luigi jumps higher, but doesn't have his awkward jump from 2. I haven't seen many speedruns for that.
The soundtrack is the mashup of Super Mario Bros and Crazybus that we always knew we never wanted.

Basically the vanilla game, except you have to beat each level in under very strict time limits. I've only ever seen it being TAS'd. _I'd love to see you try Warpless._
In that hack you move quite fast.
Two catches.
1) the timer goes down by one every FRAME.
2) everything kills you. coins, mushrooms, everything.
It would be cool if there was a rom hack similar to the boo racing in smb deluxe. If there was a way for the times to be stored, then every subsequent time you play the level, the timer starts at your pb for that level. The levels in this hack actually did seem like good speedrunning levels if they were longer or the timer was shorter.
It could be totally possible that the later worlds in that hack have actual more challenging levels, though it's worth mentioning that the vast majority of people couldn't even get close to finishing most of these levels fast enough. It was intended for normal people, not speedrunners who can clip through walls and fly through piranha plants.
Also, bad music? Just play steamed hams or something really loud so you don't hear it lol
The music and sound alone drops this hack from like, a 6/10 to a 3/10. lmao
Actually, it drops it from 5/10 to 2/10. The levels aren't tight at all.
I played this hack before. I liked the levels but the music was really really bad. To be honest tho I didnt expect this hack when you said this was for the pros lol. I'm no pro by any means but I've managed to get through this hack relatively easily. Great video as always!

I must be a masochist, since I was kind of digging the way all the sounds were warped compared to their originals. It felt somewhat jazz-like, where the exact notes don't matter but the mood of the moment does.

it’s a shame. it would have been really cool if they’d just changed the music from it’s original major key to the minor key. that way it would have sounded wrong, but in a more musically pleasant way.
