I remember this song being all over the radio in '69.
I was born in 1979 and heard this in the 80s. It scared the sh*t out of me. Now i think its amazing😊
Zager & Evans were an American rock-pop duo active during the late 60's-70's. This futuristic song "In The Year 2525" was their biggest hit in 1969 so they are often classified as a one-hit wonder.

Well i remembed back in the early 70s mom gave me 1984 to read and hearing this song.
It's been awhile since I heard this. I liked it back then and still like it. There is a message with a warning, I think we need to keep that in mind.

Zager has been making quality acoustic guitars for quite a while now. So he knows how f..kd up the world is now.
I believe he also has a very popular system for learning to play guitar, my brother-in-law was taking his lessons.

Man I forgot how much I absolutely loved this as a little kid when I heard it on the radio. And I also figured out kind of how to play it on the piano. To me they were always a one hit wonder but I don't really know. Such an amazing song for the time.

As late as the mid 1970s I had this song on a 45 rpm record. We moved in 1976 and I don't know what happened to it after that.

I remember 1969 like yesterday. My uncle who had owned 5 bars or so Milwaukee surround and use to bring my sister and i the 45 he would replace in jukeboxes. Ofcourse vietnam .the assinations throughout 60s .the civil rights ..man

When you give people something without them working for it never works.
I dig how they created a "wall of sound" by pushing the bass in the mix and adding violins and trumpet flourishes for embellishment. The song pairs well with "Eve of Destruction" by Barry McGuire from 1965. Both songs seem to get traction whenever bouts of mass hysteria take hold. As for the state of affairs at the moment, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times, as Dickens wrote. Funny thing though, right now the things people seem to complain about the most are actually doing well and getting better, but some people grouse about anything and everything always just to puff themselves up as more cynical than thou because they think it gives them cred. For real tho, why do all the wrong people have ALL the money?? I couldn't have more money than I'd know what to do with coz there's so much good that a person could do with a surplus of money.
