Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on TH-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on TH-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on TH-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

This song was on the radio constantly in 1969. Everybody had a different songs and different views and ideas for songs. This is a good example.

I turned twelve in 1969. That summer of ‘69 (in large part due to the music) was possibly the best of my life. Whenever I reflect back on that summer from world events to personal experiences the music is ever present and connected. And this song was a part of that.

One of the most memorable songs of that era. I was 9 years old when it came out and will never forget the meanings and impact it had on me and most people of that tine.i believe that many people realized what man was doing to the earth and fellow human beings. Us kids thought we could change all that though we just became our parents with so much regrets!☹️

I grew up in the 60s/70s and my parents thought my generation's music was so "weird" and meaningless. They couldn't hear the messages of love, peace, understanding or forward thinking. They didn't recognize the genius of songs or the bands that played them. It was beyond them. I'm so thankful that I grew up with the music I did. It kept my eyes (and ears) open to different views and reality. Thanks for your reaction, Shawn. Take care and be well. Peace.

The video that was done with footage from the silent film "Metropolis" is perfectly adapted. Much of it is a cautionary tale of what can and will happen if not careful, and some things have already happened.

This song came out around the time of the moon landing. The war in Vietnam was going on while being protested at home and the Cold War was a concern for everyone. It wasn't long after the Civil Rights Act passed. And there was Kent State, etc. A couple movies of the time included "Planet Of The Apes" and "2001, A Space Odyssey" and "Lost In Space" was one of the popular TV shows. This song was a reflection of the times.

I do remember this song when it was out, but I have never seen this video of Zager AND Evans. The line about 'your arms hang limp by your side, some machine does it all for you' kinda freaked me out, a very bleak future for mankind. And I don't mean Mick Foley, LOL. A great cup of coffee request, Thank You.

My God!!! 70=year-old-Hippie, who's loved this song since it came out..........but how in the world DID I NOT KNOW that this song was recorded in the town I grew up in!????
I was born and raised in Odessa!!! I have always been almost unbeatable with Boomer-era music and culture trivia, but I did not know this song was recorded there!!!!
As I think and read more about it, it really astounds me to think that I was never aware of this; I mean, I can imagine that every Odessa AM radio DJ MUST have made reference to this fact, every time they played the song - which was A LOT!!!
I mean, yes, there was a LOT going on in the/my world at the time, such as the moon landing and my 16th birthday and my drivers license and my first car. my first real boyfriend, and more. But still, all things considered, I just am flabbergasted that I didn't know about this bit of trivia!!!!
Gotta thank you and your generous requester for this one, and for teaching this old know-it-all Hippie something new!!!!😊
As for the content of the song? Obviously, it's all happening much faster than the song predicted!

Great song, isn't it? When it came out, it blew our minds and gave us chills.
    "In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin' if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing." Well, we've done that already, taken from the earth, disrespecting the earth and not giving back, and look at what our ecology is, all messed up

This song has always been fascinating to me. it never fails to bring a chill to my spine. Great reaction, Shawn. ❤‍🔥Here's a new female artist to give a listen, if interested. "Natalie Merchant - Carnival" (by the channel: Natalie Merchant) --Natalie Merchant is an American singer/songwriter. She first began singing with a band called "10,00 Maniacs." She joined the band in 1981 and remained with the group for their first seven albums, before leaving in 1993 to begin her solo career. I thought I'd leave a suggestion of her performing with "10,000 Maniacs" as well. Just in case you'd like to hear them too. "10,000 Maniacs - Don't Talk" (by the channel: Natalie Merchant) [Alternative rock, jangle pop, folk rock.] I have missed enjoying your insightful reactions. Thanks for sharing.

Consider also this was summer of the moon landing. JFK committed the USA to that goal before the end of the decade and it was achieved. So with this in mind people felt like anything possible through technology. Then this song comes along and made us pause to consider just because it might be possible is it wise.
