Thanks 9malls! Glad you did a review on a "basic" mp3 player I was curious about. A lot of us love just having a simplish, one purpose device to play music on. Not everyone is a cellphone addicted robot absorbed in their little world of cellfishness. :)

@@joshrayner7167 I'm still here!!! LOL. I STILL have the player and it works fine and holds a charge. I have also gotten a couple of other AGPTEK U3 USB Stick Mp3 Players, 8GB onboard memory. No built in battery. Grabbed a couple of those and they seem to work great. Got them loaded up with memory cards full of music. These are my "emergency" players. If things keep getting worse in the world, I at least want some spare music options around. Hope you are doing well!!!!
Is it possible to play videos from the folder icon, where I can separate my videos in different named folders, or can I only play them form the video icon, having to manually select a video from a huge list of all my videos?
you did not address the issue of the shuffle or the play music, which says it will start where you left off which it does not. Maybe you could help me, I've tried numerous wasy to no avail.

how about the volume for music? i want to use it with an fm transmitter in my car. I've tried an Alba one , but the maximum volume was so poor, that you could barely hear something through the car radio.
With Bluetooth completely wireless earbuds becoming more popular, a Bluetooth version of these kind of players will become way more popular. I have had a ZEN X-fi-3 for years and I love that its tiny and Bluetooth. Especially at the gym. Fumbling around with a distracting phone at the gym is terrible to stay focused. I just ordered a AGPtek G05w to replace my Zen, as its at least 8 years old by now.
Definitely not much of a review. Why not test the different audio types it claims to support (Ogg and FLAC, for instance) and show us how it connects to the PC? What about the MicroSD card functionality? Does it play video, and if so, how good or bad does it look? What is the battery life like and how long does it take to charge? Does it connect fine to a Mac or Linux system?
2 questions, if you don't mind. Has it lived up to the 70hr battery life? Does it have a resume feature, i.e., say you're listening to that Joe Rogan podcast you have on there, and you pause it, then shut the unit off. When you turn the unit back on, will it go back to the spot you had paused? I suspect not, but can't seem to find the info. For me, the resume feature is critical for listening to podcasts. I've been using Sansa Clips for years, but they keep ruining the line with every new model.
Haven't tested the battery life to 70 hr, but I can say it is very good. No resume feature that I know of, just tested it, and it resets when you turn off. Still use it and like it, it's basic, but works for what I need it for.
Thanks for the reply. Some of the Amazon reviews have implied there is an option somewhere in the settings, that would allow one to turn on the resume feature. There are so many of the "70 hr" players on sites like Amazon that have a dozen different brand names. I wonder if AGPTEK is the actual manufacturer and allows them to be rebadged, or they're simply one of the many "rebadgers", and it's made by some other company?
I have found the way in manual and it works: "When the player is on the song playing screen, press the button VOL and then hold the center button to turn off it. The next time you turn your player on, it will start from the last position it left off"
Same unit as Ruizu x02. those who complain in comments of can't connect bluetooth..IT HAS NONE. LOL for the money i can't complain either. sound is decent for sure.
Hey. Try to play songs by album. Guess what. This player groups albums by only the first 8 characters and not the whole album title! This player thinks that "The Greatest Hits of The Beatles" and "The Greatest Hits of STYX" are the same album and will lump all of the songs from both of those albums together!! Had to return mine.

Great Review. Didn't have issues connecting Bluetooth but I am having problems loading music from iTunes

Yea, I use it when I don't want to drain the cell phone battery. With MP3 players I think the more basic the better.

As far as I know they just get mixed up in the display. It might be possible to create on computer and transfer these folders/playlists onto device.

Chargeable battery, but you can't access the battery without taking it apart.
