- The Journey of Train 18, the Vande Bharat Express, is not just the story of making of India's first world class, semi-high, engine-less train completely conceptualized, designed, developed, manufactured and tested in India in a record time of 18 months. It is the story of the limitless talent and what the motivation in the right measures can help achieve. It is the story of the transformation of reviewing the approach to make it holistic, and of doing with the environment and art totally in sync with the manufacturing in the Integral Coach Factory and mindsets of the people working there. It's only about keeping your dream alive, loving what you do, loving your workplace and your colleagues - and doing your best instead of complaining. You just have to hear it from Sudhanshu Mani, the man at the helm of the Train 18 project, to believe what an unbelievably inspiring story of achievement it is! Sudhanshu Mani is the man behind the production and execution of the state of the art Train-18, aka Vande Bharat Express, Indian Railways' fastest self-propelled engine-less train, which was manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in a record-breaking time of 18 months! I really appreciate all the dear precious ICF brothers during train 18 ICF done a good job and excellent Vande Bharat I travel from Chennai to Mysore food is so good and travel also very good only little bit discouragement this is early morning 5:50 people have to come different part of the Chennai to railway station little bit difficulty other than that everything is excellent restroom is very much good plan and in time it reach to Chennai

Knowing him for last 20 years, his hidden potential as a leader and as a an engineer finally found its mettle at ICF. A person with rare engineering knowledge of railway rolling stock, what will actually surprise you is his strong command over English, Hindi and Urdu. I still remember when the 1 st GM locomotive was getting launched by Nitish Kumar at DLW Varanasi, Mr Shudhanshu Mani was comparing. Sri Nitish Kumar got so impressed with Mr Mani's impromptu narration of the highlights of locomotive in chaste Hindi punctuated with Urdu, that when Mr Nitish Kumar got up to speak, he first complemented Mr Shudhanshu Mani asto how a railway engineer who knows his hammer better than Hindi can have such impeccable command over language. Yes, people like him make India different. पर जम्हूरियत वह तर्जे हुकूमत है जिसमें इंसान को गिना करते हैं, तौला नहीं करते।

Born in desert village of India,I first saw the train when I went to study in city & I was amused by old coal run engine which used to sound beautiful whistle .
Then time turns and I went to USA and visited our beautiful country after a long time.
I happen to travel by vande Bharat …. I couldn’t believe it that india can manufacture,produce such marvel engineering gem !

A few days ago , 8th vande Bharat train was flagged off and the hype for it is still like the first time u heard of it. I remember seeing this train on its launch date reading the news. I scoured through so many articles cause feeling of reading "built by Indians" was so amazing....

This IRSME Technocrat is an asset to Indian Transportation System. Unbelievable fact that this GM achieved a leap in production ethos through his man and machine management in just half of the estimated time and one third of the estimated cost, to the discomfiture of pessimistic and envious nay sayers. He deserves much more than just Padma Shri. We all have seen how many hurdles his baby Train 18 had to go through in its validation by various Inspectorates despite RDSO’s clearance. Another Dr E Sreedharan type goal oriented railway administrator. Excellent TED delivery by GM / ICF. The entire staff of ICF and Chennaites would have been much more happier had the first Train18 operations were centred in MAS -SBC section.
