Filipinos have the right to travel. An immigration officer in the airport has no right to deprive your RIGHT- if your travel is legal or no hold departure order.

thank you for bringing this up. Offloading issue is really a major problem for Filipinos who just want to travel abroad for vacation or for visiting their loved ones abroad. Best thing to do is to really research what kind of travel documents one should bring and never hesitate to contact the Immigration helpline and ask about their requirements. Many got offloaded because they don't have CFO certificate and Affidavit of Support from their family, husband or partner abroad.

@@FarmerGregie the reason that PH immigration is very strict to single Filipinas is because many have been victims of human trafficking. That's why nowadays, Immigration asks for the CFO certificate & Affidavit of Support if the Filipina doesn't have a good job or bank account/ proof of sufficient funds. This is specially true if the sponsor is a BF/ partner / fiancé.

    • @kitty_s23456

@@jonross8925 so you'll be leaving PH together? To be safe, it's best for her to have it, esp if 1st time travel. Go to a lawyer/ notary public & have him/ her draw up an Affidavit of Support and Guarantee. It should cost more or less P500. That's cheaper than if she gets offloaded (and you have to rebook, etc). Also, have proof of relationship like pictures together, pics with her family, etc (esp if you're not married). Sometimes the IO asks for letter of parental consent. It depends on how strict the IO is. Sometimes they'll just let the Filipino/ Filipina pass through. Sometimes they ask for lots of papers/ docs. By law, they can do that bcos IOs can ask for proof of financial capacity (it's on the BI website). If the Filipina has no good job / business of her own, she must prove that she can support her travels. Your Affidavit of Support will be that proof. You will also be on separate lanes: she'll be on the Filipino only lane & you'll be in the foreigner lane.

In 2017 I went to UK as I was sponsored by my Fiancé who’s now my husband. This was the first time I traveled outside PH. The Immigration personnel asked me this and that and I said I don’t have this specific document she’s asking because I was not a regular employee back then. She then asked for relationship proof where I presented a printed copy of our conversation but she wasn’t satisfied, so I gave her my phone and showed her our pictures together. That time I was thinking I might get off-loaded, but I told myself I won’t let them do that because I have a visa, supporting documents, and return ticket. She probably realized that I’m not buying her attitude so she stamped my passport and let me went through.
To the immigration staff in the PH you have to be more kind to your Kababayans, yes you have the right to check certain documents but if at the end of it everything is legit and confirmed, just let them board the plane and let them enjoy their vacation. It seems to us na ginagawa niyo ito pag feel niyo lang mang off-load ng pasahero. Wag ganun kasi malaking halaga ang nasasayang, yung time and effort at yung expectations. Do your job properly.
Mas maganda din sana if gumagana yung Self service passport verifier para mabawasan yung pang concert na pila sa immigration. Sayang naman anong silbi nun if nakatengga lang sa gilid hindi nagagamit. Napakarami pang issue ng immigration na dapat ayusin sana this time kahit one at a time mabigyan ng attention.

I just went through the process entering for the 2nd time. Both times to enter Philippines was easy and pretty quick. When leaving it was a different story. After arrival at the airport you have to wait until your airlines is called before entering into airport. Then when entering you have baggage scan and document verification. Then you stand in line for ticket counter and documents rechecked. Then you head to immigration and the process is simple and you have documents rechecked. Then go through security for a 2nd bag check and documents checked again. Then to get to gates your documents are checked again and once you arrive at gate your documents are checked again. Seems to me it is unnecessary but it is the process. Frustrating to know you are checked 7 times and this does not count when boarding the plane which makes it 8 times your documents are checked. I think the departure process could absolutely use an overhaul. Just have to be patient though this entire process. Cant wait to return. 😊❤️🇵🇭

After 25 months I finally made it to the Philippines I recently extended my visa in Dipolog City and found the immigration officer to be pleasant and very helpful. Both visits were under 10 minutes. The 29 day extension cost 3030 pesos. A six-month extension is 15,470 pesos. All in all I have no complaint about the immigration process in Dipolog City. Every Friday and immigration officer comes to City Hall to process visas. By the way the Dipolog city is one of the most cleanest and hospitable cities not many foreigners here loving it here!

And sana naman kahit papaano update nila yung about the vaccination requirement pati na rin dun sa mga unvaccinated na may medical certificate from doctors. As a long stay foreigner online services and the ability to pay by cashless would be awesome (I hate touching and having cash/coin on me). For Filipinos, I hope there is clarification and guidelines about the offloading situation. It seems really unfair, I know countless people who have been offloaded for unknown reason even when they have gone above and beyond to have additional documents on hand. The BI Officers making the decisions on the spot have too much power, all it takes is for them to have a bad day or any reason and they can start offloading. I especially feel for people that just want to see family or take a small vacation especially after being locked down for two years; it is also very expensive, such a waste.

Yup! Another opportunity for small minded government workers to stroke their big headed egos when they deny people leaving the Philippines. It is NOT their place, job, or responsibility to deny Philippine citizens the right to travel abroad. THAT is the responsibility of the country issuing the Philippine citizen a visa. When a Philippine citizen goes through the enormous amount of time, effort, money, paperwork, interviews, and headaches to get a Visa issued by the USA, the book, and pay for a flight there, have relatives and sponsors anxiously waiting for them, only to be told that they CAN NOT board the airplane because some small minded corrupt immigration agent didn’t get paid or feels powerful? Nope. They should NOT be allowed to do that.

    • @tryingtocorrect
      @tryingtocorrect ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, to deny should be only done if very clear evidence. Not some minor issue.
Also , big part of this problem could be solved if the immigration check is done 2 weeks before the flight, then can rebook and not losing all the money.

As a Foreigner going back and forth for 15 years and never been black listed or in any trouble in the Philippines i really dont see the point of new B I officers on entry Harrassing me because i LEAGALLY have a passport full of Extentions ! Whats the point when we are Leagally Allowed to extend and its giving lots of money to the Government every time a foreigner extends . If for say i arrive at Clark where older seasond officers still man the entry gates , they will stamp your passport and grant you entry with no questions asked, but if i arrive in Cebu with younger newer officers twice they held me up for long periods laying there own power personal agendas on me even though everything is in place questioning me Hey whats all this ! pointing to my LEGAL extentions,, and proceed to make me sweat as if something is wrong with my documents ..Asking me all sorts of questions .Then they finnally let me in after everyone else has gone ! There own personal power trip of a young officer on entry . Dont they realise the Government wants us to extend for all the revenue ! Yes they DO Realise it ! and that they themselves could be transfered to the offices where they will be assigned to Extend us ! ! The officers should be instructed on entry that if all Documents are in place then Let them in .

BOI should compensate pax for airline penalties. Imagine, you checked in already and recorded in their computers but you were offloaded. A no show reason could cost a pax plenty of money in terms of cancelled tickets or rebooking fees. Airline companies should check their computers for those who checked in or not...and not just subject pax to their NO SHOW.policy. How could it be a No Show when their computers recorded all check-ins?

Immigration laws are formulated to generate money. Those laws are not applied in rich countries. Some officers just takes bribe money. Half arrives to the coffers of the immigration. It's the front desks officers who get the payments. Just lift those laws end of the story. Give at least 6 months no visa to all nationalities. I find it illogical for a policy, reacquiring citizenship. A natural born citizen should never loss nationality. Nature is the absolute law. If a second citizenship is obtained, that's a privilege. It is not a reason to lose natural birth citizenship. Again it is an excuse to milk pinoys living abroad. I myself went through a pile of documents to comply useless requirements for a Filipino passport. Which I never use anyway. I am a natural born Filipino and I want to possess a pinoy passport.

With the exception of one woman, I have nothing but praise for the BI workers in Davao City and especially CDO.
As for the web page of BI and most all other Philippine agencies I have ever tried to use, they ALL look and work like they were designed by an high school or in most case an elementary school kid, THEY ARE HORRIBLE, many times one agency page will say something totally different than another agency website.
Webpage designers are urgently needed here for govt. and most especially bussiness for the very few that even have one, and even fewer that have one that works effectively. Having a FB page for a bussiness is not effective advertising . Kids here should be going to school to learn web page design, its badly needed here, if businesses could realize the effectiveness of having a good working website, which very very few have here.

Ability to conduct more transactions online via the BI website is definitely a great step forward.
Also, completely agree on the idiotic offloading process that happens so often for Filipinos, especially Filipinas who travel alone, it's absolutely ridiculous that these BI officers have that much power. I don't believe there is any BI law that states Filipinos cannot travel alone, as long as all of the requirements have been met, then the person(s) should be allowed to leave the country. This is more of a training and attitude issue than anything else. These officers need to be re-trained to follow the BI laws and regulations, and not their own feelings.
How about availability of and consistency of info being provided to the public, including foreigners. You can ask 10 different officers and would probably get 7-10 different answers.
These are just my personal thoughts, based on my own experience. I've traveled to the PH for over 10 years and am now currently residing in Bohol.
