- Hey guys welcome to my TH-cam channel! I'm an Indonesian student at Singapore Management University and I'm doing a summer internship at Shopee. I'm in the SG Marketing department under the Public Relations team.
Just thought it would be fun to film my internship experience for memories to look back on, and to share with everyone else. This day-in-my-life video shows snippets of what I typically do in a day during my internship, and a Shopee office tour as well.

Tbh i was once enticed by their perks such as free food, games room etc. But let me tell u guys, the excitement over such perks will only last within 2 weeks and ull find urself rarely making use of them. Ultimately the best career is one which empowers you and has a positive work environment.
agree with you! 😊 i see perks as extras (they’re called perks after all), the important thing to focus on is the job itself, career development opportunities, and etc :)
True, because the time spent working is much more than the time enjoying those perks.
Absolutely true. Worked for Google Data Centre before. Free buffet breakfast & lunch (they serve crayfish dish once a week), on top of snacks & drinks. Used to stay in the cafeteria for nearly an hour for the first few weeks. Ended up staying for 15mins & went elsewhere as soon as I've finished eating for the remainder of my time there.
the best perk is work from anywhere. I'll definitely make use of that perk 100%
the best thing here is the free food!! and also the working environment❤

As a Singaporean, i wish i am blessed and be so privileged to be working with a company that appreciate their staffs. Been working for more than 6 years and i came to a point that i stop searching for a 'better' job.
I have not graduated yet but I don't think I could ever work the same job for that long if I don't like it. 5 years max. Glad you found your happy ❤
@@pooja350 5 years max? I find myself surviving every PT job I have so far maximum 3 months. Lol
when you've came to the point that your job is better than your trash like environment previous job...you tend to stick to your current job though you know there are better ones...you have to consider a lot of things before you leave like...
1. if i leave my company what would my next company think about me? a person who easily gets bored so you easily change your job?
2. does her experience qualify with our job?
3. if i change my job, i am scared that i will go back to having that trash like environment
4. if i leave my job, how can i be sure that i will get one right away? my bills won't stop even if i can't pay it
5. maybe they'll increase my salary if i just endure longer
and so much more that you have more doubts on leaving...its not because we don't want to but its because we can't...when you get older and have a lot of bills and mouth to feed you will understand why people stay longer despite the complaints...
well shopee isn't that nice either. I've heard from insiders the working culture is pretty toxic. if u want to be appreciated, don't work for a company, especially big ones like shopee with many many stakeholders.

so exciting, I am going to fly to Singapore for my first job as a Shopee frontend engineer, very happy to see how the building looks like and it really really nice, way more than I expected

Was just searching for Shopee to learn about how to start selling and I am blown away of how well the building is constructed ! Hard work during high school pay off ! Good luck !

Being an intern there must be the best since u get to enjoy all the free perks w/o the stress & won't be expected to do too much work. I imagine a full-timer won't have the luxury of time to really enjoy all of those perks. Hope you enjoyed your time there!
