Johnathan is a very hard working young man. You are both lucky to work together. It’s an awesome thing to have a mentor and the apprentice work so well together. Great little dozer, you’ll have lots of things for her to do
The overall physical size of that engine is so small in relation to the bulldozer! A testament to the strength of a Detroit 2 stroke 71 series!! Nice job!! Who needs an engine hoist to lift the head with Jonathan around!!! :)
NICE just needed a gasket nice..... I would get that cable pull working next I'm telling you with that you can pull busses up the hill EASY!!! Great video!!!
Keep it wound up especially a 2 cycle . Not bad for a 70 year old crawler . Certainly runs smother now . We had one of these on the farm when I was young in 1950 . Our paint was a little better . This is the way these projects are supposed turn out .
I don't think there is an automotive grade clear silicone. The previous owner of my F250 used clear on the rear differential cover, it was bloody obnoxious to break loose.
2-71 is about 60hp. They are great little engines, I owned many of them and rebuilt lots also. I suplied lots of the local sawmills with them over the past about 12 years by rebuilding and converting several generator and welder 2-71’s to be PTO units. Unfortunately I’ve sold off all except one that I am keeping for mysef as it’s a uncommon 2-71 marine propulsion engines with a twin disc MG61 3:1 reversing gearbox, rated at 55hp

That kid earns his money.

What a sweetheart of a dozer - nice find and fits right in with your operation.
Cool owl! Love those birds.
He didn’t answer my questions correctly.
Always helps to have a supervisor. You have been watched! Glad the gasket replacement was all the 2-71 needed,
20:28 - Hey it's Mr. Owl! Should've asked him how many licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop!
Thhhreeee
A-oneee,a-two-hooo,a- three......a- three!

You need some studs so you can slip the head over them and then take the out scott....lol😅😅😅

The owl and the bulldozer❤
A nice change of pace. No forklift nor heavy duty tools to remove that head.
That was a nice size head ;)
Ol Poppin Johnny....grandad had one. Pushed a bunch of dirt with it
Sure runs well bro it was a great purchase. Safe travels. Ken.
Beautiful bird. Lucky to see that time day.
Hell it runs sweet !!
Great wee machines, should see you right for what you want to do ….
That will be a sweet chert topper for keeping the dyno hill maintained!
Pretty cool little dozer. Seems like a fun one to just tool around on. :)

The plan-b board 😂😂😂😂
Love the owl,, I have them occasionally in my yard in N. Fla. If a 6-71 head gasket job take one day, you should have this is 2-3 hours.
Cleaning was 3/4 of the work. Correct about 1/2 days work
Just for curiosity, what ever happened to that cherry picker you were rebuilding? Looks like you're building a stable of equipment on the mountain!
It works fine. We just don’t need to use it very much.
That exhaust pipe attachment to the manifold is...interesting
It looks like something someone should be writing a children's book about.
We are still thinking of names for it ;)
very good you two
Guess Lance didn't want to drive the bulldozer.
Maybe the next time he visits
Purring like a newone
Seems like you could make good use of a sandblasting booth
Love that machine.
Do you guys have a dunk tank for radiator? Love your TH-cam videos. Think I would have changed out the thermostat
You clearly have never wasted a day getting out broken bolts from a thermostat housing….
You were able to reuse the head bolts because of the torquing compound? When should you not reuse head bolts that big?

Kool motor to modify ?
I believe the device on the end of the exhaust pipe is (what remains of) a spark arrestor.
That is the air intake
@@BusGreaseMonkey Yep - sure is! My bad… Cute baby Jimmy…
SWEET
Can you weld metal on the trax instead of replacing them?
I don’t want tall ones. These are enough to do what i want and don’t tear the crap out of the driveway. But yes you can weld on new grousers
@@BusGreaseMonkey thanks, you’re the best! I hope you have a wonderful weekend
That’s bad ass
Would be great if you can repair the wench.
It’s on a long list of things id like to do.
Are you accepting donations for some paint? I'd be happy to contribute!
PayPal scott@busgreasemonkey.com ;) OZ wants to paint it.
Maybe somebody reused the head gasket - that’s why it leaked?
100% they reused it and added house window silicon to it.
😮
No. Who is on second.
What?
That squirt bottle needs some kroil.
It’s got like a vacuum thing happening.
Just wondering how many ponies can that two banger make? And thanks for the video
Close to 80HP with 200ft lbs of torque
