I think you’re incorrect in some of your statements. I emailed Allsaints and they said they use full grain leather with minimal alteration to the surface (obvs this varies from jacket to jacket and Intended look and style of jacket). I’m not sure yours has a waxed finish either - a waxed/greased has a unique look, it’s a great finish! A waxed finish isn’t necessary a cheap leather either - it’s done for a purpose to give it some water resistance and protection (see Greasy and gaucho leather!). Allsaints leather often needs a protector on it, as they aren’t very water resistant implying they are an aniline/semi aniline leather. A crinkled finish is an additional process to make it looked aged - a style you choose to have - not all allsaints have it. Of course all leather can become crinkled with wear - the type of leather like lamb is prone to it and poor fit effects this - always size down. Finally- use of panelling doesn’t necessary mean it’s cheap there’s plenty of jackets in the $1k mark who do it, also it’s a style choice, lines can emphasise areas of the body make u look less fat etc. Thing is Allsaints have so many choices - each different- so pick wisely and always size down! My Allsaints jacket is made from buffalo and is fantastic!
I have around 15 leather jackets from 4 different brands, I sort of know my stuff now ( at least I think I do haha) : AllSaints, Boda Skins, Iro Paris, Sandro Paris. For a rock look I have a perfecto-like Sandro that is amazing, it's absolutely on a par with a Schott, for a rock/grunge/bad boy look you can't beat an AllSaints, and for a classy look I wear a Boda ( The Alexander. My tip, immediately get rid of the silly leather bits on all the zips, makes it look like a Christmas tree!!!) or the Iro (softest leather ever, could do a pyjama out of it haha). Bottom line, if I had ONE BRAND to choose from and advise a friend for a first leather jacket it would be Allsaints (hands down best in terms of quality vs fit vs price vs look) and ONE MODEL from AllSaints it would be the Conroy, it's got it all apart from the "classy" bit, I couldn't go to the opera with it for instance, whereas I could with my Iro (not that I go anyway!) As for that Thursday jacket, man those lapels, I'm crying!!!! Great video, keep up the good work!
I'm from India. It's not that we produce bad leather jackets, it's that they use mid grade leather, less of it and with no regard for hardware. Leather jackets in India are Mass produced and also in small production outfits (2-3 sewers max). I go to one of these every year, I usually bring my own hardware (zippers snaps) and lining (cotton satin or worsted wool). If you pay them more ($200), you can get top quality leather (virtually blemish free) and a custom fit. Most made in India jackets are made of 5-7 low grade skins and we export the good skins. My jackets would use anywhere from 10-12 skims.
In north India, where i live, Delhi, it hits 0 c in December and January. With 8-9°C afternoons. For biking, these jackets usually don't cut it. Bikers usually wear nylon windproof bomber or a proper riding jacket with armor. These do well, but not as dedicated riding jackets. Then again, I ride in flip-flops, so I'm hardly one to talk.
Good to see you upload bro! Great video watched all the way through. Also good to know the Thursday jacket is trash, I'll consider picking up the Boda Skins for sure!
I think this dude had a defective jacket from Thursday or something, idk. I don't own the moto, I did buy the flight in coffee color, and the quality is absolutely top notch. It is a beautiful jacket, fits me good, can't wait to rock it in cold weather.
Great review my man. I agree with you 100%, especially when you said those jackets look like used trash bags. Do you mind reviewing one of Cadogan's leather jackets?
I Recommend trying on utilitarian leather jackets like Roland Sands, Dainese, or Merlin. They make great under 500$ jackets which you can get away with using casually.
I make these type jackets in Pakistan I want to do business I am from Pakistan in Pakistan cheap labour and great quality I make these type in 300 dollars
I would highly recommend "Straight to Hell" jackets. They're reasonably priced, but scream quality. The leather feels thick and strong, yet very soft and quick to break in. I get compliments on mine very often.
@@HoraP79 oh thats unfortunate, i ended up picking up a coffee bomber from thursdays. not too familiar with leather but it smells good and feels good, just bought the wrong size. They are really athletic fitting.

Full grain leather has no alterations to the surface tho. This means those alterations, however small, make the jacket corrected grain and not full.

You should cop a master supply co leather jacket. The quality is impeccable
Thanks for the review. Very informative
I actually like the oversized lapels but leather quality is equally important as style.

The Boda jacket is the one on the middle with the Gold zippers

Curious that your Boda Skins was made in Turkey because my Kay Michaels says made in Pakistan
Schott is the best

Bro I’m not even over exaggerating, the Thursday looks like the worst, cheapest leather jacket ever
You mislabeled the brands of each jacket on this part of the video
@@GangMilk222 huh?
Damnnn no love for thursday 💔
Was gonna give thursday a shot .. or maybe the jacket maker
