    Phil displayed a quality that was very common of older Hams: INGENUITY. The ability to make something functional and wonderful out of JUNK.
    Today, that is a lost art. Today we are too much of a "THROW AWAY Society. We will miss Phil, and others like him. RIP Phil. 73

    Thanks Scott, thanks for remembering him and letting us know he passed. Guys like Phil are all but gone now. I was fortunate when I was a younger man to have one around. So much is learned from them. I remembered Phil when you visited him and many in the comments thought he was annoying. I was waiting for you to get back there. I didn't know him, yet I knew him well.

    • @tl1024
      @tl1024 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lots of the crazy old men could be considered by some as "annoying", but that's just their decades of experience showing through, but, once you look past that, you'll be amazed what you see, and learn, if you're willing to look.

    You could just say Phil loved life in general! He possessed a great deal of historical knowledge about public transit and transportation in general as well.
    While he never operated streetcars in revenue service, he *did* operate the first generation of buses that replaced them. That's kinda cool in its own right.
