My grandparents had one of the GM ones when i was a kid. They were farmers so, would go from Michigan to Florida in it every winter. I remember how it drove my grandma crazy that grandpa would never take the same route, use a map,or be on any type of a schedule. He had one of those little globe type floating compasses mounted on the dashboard, and he would just head South, figure they'd get there sooner or later.
10:41 They said that the Aerocar was powered by an 8 cylinder Curtiss aero engine. Um, the Areocar is a trailer and needs to be towed. There's no engine and there are pictures of several different cars towing it. So where does this aero motor fit in?
The Aerocar brought it's own pilot car. It was sold as a combo. The AI narrator glossed over this fact, and also left out key details that do it a disservice. The pilot car was equipped with the engine mentioned in the video, but also had other cool features like 4 wheel steering, self leveling suspension, a built in generator capable of 7500 watts, and even a small electric boiler that provided steam heating to both units. The trailer also had self leveling suspension. It really was a marvel for the time. Made by Glenn H Curtiss who was a well established aerospace and automotive pioneer.
Surprised they didn't mention the Corvair Ultravan. Also built by GM with the Corvair engine, suspension, brakes, and transmission. My grandpa had one and that was a slow trip machine. With scary brakes.
There are so many more unique and rare motorhomes than what you covered in this video in fact the Winnebago brave and the travco are both somewhat considered classic motorhomes that you will see that many classic motorhome events however when was the last time you saw a sports coach that looks like a shark front end? Or how about the Vogue like the one used in the movie real genius? But I did enjoy all the other ones especially the GM future liner.
13:17 They show a picture and talk about a 1915 Conklin Gypsy Van, then they start going off the rails showing a bunch of interiors of other trailers while talking about the Conklin including a trailer from the 1960's. wtf?
Trying to figure out the purpose of showing a hemi engine in a completely different vehicle with the Dodge MH. According to them it came with the 318 they originally pictured.
heavy vehicle like trucks or motor home need more torque than HP,torque move the heavy weight off the dead stop not HP and 425 is transaxle for front wheel drive cars,as TORNADO was also front wheel drive transmission is for rear wheel drive and they are TH400
The GMC motorhome used the Tornado 455 and 425 Transaxle front wheel drive ..... you may want to do a little research first 🤡 Classic VW & Corvair are rear engine rear wheel drive, Transaxle plus the Pantera & C8 Corvette
I’ve seen majority of these at least once the one thing that they should have made a video of that I had a lot of other RV enthusiast have not seen because they only made a few of them in the 80s and that was project Americas RV/boat home last time was ever recorded Found was at a junkyardin Palm Springs California and that was 2009
The 455 c.i. Oldsmobile producing 265 hp lol, my Tundra has a twin turbo V-6, making 150 more hp and more torque. Those 455s were dogs, even when built.
16:28 7.7 to 13.5 liter with only 48 to 66HP?!😂😂 well the reason was gas quality was so bad that the cars couldn't have more than 4.5 to 5.5 max compression pressure ratio! with that much compression and low RPM engines you couldn't produce much of HP anyway
Ridiculous. Come on. Travco's are not RARE. They made alot of them. Limited production run? The made them for well over 20 years. The engine displayed at 1:34 is not in a motorhome, but in a car, and it is a Hemi, never installed in any motorhome. WInnebagos, including the Brave, did not stop production in the 1970s. I just had to stop watching this idiotic bilge.
Watching videos with badly written scripts and poorly researched alone will see me not subscribe. Watching a few of these videos and being Aussie I’m just wondering with all this misinformation and misleading thumbnail are you related to Aussie PM Anthony Albanese? 😂🤣😂
CLICK BAIT!! first picture is not even in the video!
Thanks, that was the only reason I clicked on this. I went straight to the comments before watching.
@@osirisandilio only reason I clicked on it too!! Great looking truck! Hate Click bait!
I know... pissed me off
I hate that.
It's called a thumbnail
I wanted to see the one in the thumbnail! So dishonest!!!
They just earned a do not recommend.
Agreed.

Exactly, I was wondering where would it be and why would it have a motor especially one that big?
The Aerocar brought it's own pilot car. It was sold as a combo. The AI narrator glossed over this fact, and also left out key details that do it a disservice.

I hate the click bait too, but the dude glitching out at 3:37 made up for it🤣🤣🤣
I was just gonna say same thing!!
Lolz!!
😆😅🤣🤣😂
hahaha come on man god is watching you :P
same love it
that was hilarious
Where is the one from the thumbnail
I know that looks like a 10+ ft bed on that pick up I wanted to see it
Just lame content that uses interesting looking title images/subjects that never appear in the video. Unsubscribe.
Great video and very informative of all displayed 👏🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
I still enjoyed the video, still very interesting and fun stuff
And it is mostly all wrong. Hope you enjoyed that aspect too.
Ive had two 318 engines. And loved both of them.
I liked that Dodge motorhome. 🙂
I love fiberglass roofs, no leak magnet like present thin membrane and putty/butyl tape.
I own a 1977 20' airstream argosy motorhome with a chevy 454 and turbo 400 trans
Maravilhosos motorhome, parabéns pela postagem. maneco - Porto Alegre-RS - Brasil.
Saw a Winnie brave about 3 weeks ago bud. They are everywhere.
My friend actually has a travco sitting in his yard. Prolly will never move again but it's really sweet to see
Does anyone know the truck in thumbnail?

I could find half of these on Craigslist on any given day
A lot of the photos don't go with the descriptions.

I thought I saw the tail lights and rear access of a recent European Ford Transit van as well.
A whole motorhome with a 300 6?! The 0 to 60 was probably, maybe?
I would go with probably but you might need calendar
I get all hype up for that first truck and nothing
Doesn't even show the thumbnail just inserts random pictures of trailers that dont match what they're talking about wast of time
0:34 i used to know someone whi lived in one of those. Thing was like a pirate ship
The Brave was the best to put a lift kit and 4x4 setup.

What about Spartan, Bowles, FMC, the BMW diesel based RV,
The GMC was used in a Gumball Run. From Ny to Ca.
My Dad had a Winnebago that looked like the brave, just not sure what year it was. That thing would turn on a dime.
Did watch the whole thing but the ones I did see certainly weren’t rare.
I have a Winnobago Brave. It hasnt ran in likeley 40 years
Ultravan? Clark Cortez?
This guy has his facts so messed up he could run for president.
You could probably find five of them in the Walmart parking lot in Portland.

I got a 1974 Rev Con and paid only 200 for it. 😀
The first time I saw a 1985-LWB-4·Door-Chevy Truck w/454 I thought it was a fake. That would pull a camper.
I’ve seen majority of these at least once the one thing that they should have made a video of that I had a lot of other RV enthusiast have not seen because they only made a few of them in the 80s and that was project Americas RV/boat home last time was ever recorded Found was at a junkyardin Palm Springs California and that was 2009
Who filmed these Michael J. Fox?
Bait !!!!

Yea where is the one in the thumbnail
There are incongruities between the narration and images shown.
I fail to see how the Winnebago Brave counts as a rare RV.
Don't waste your time, thumbnail is missing, information is incorrect and editing does not coincide with video in certain areas
CLICK BAIT!! The first picture doesn’t even appear in the video!
What about the class a lazy days
Dam ! 😮 I had a friend yrs ago who offered me a travco for free ! He wanted off his property, and I said no ! "I'm such a fool at times" 😢
Gotta start "thumbs downing" these videos folks until they stop this foolery
What about the F M C
Bogus!! Great example of bait and switch. This is a big no no on you tube.
None of these fall into the never seen category. Not to mention the narrator facts are off.
Jimmy van coach..
Honesty gets you more subscribers sf brain's
Some people have a very vivid imagination. Most of this is bullsh!t.
I've seen all 😂
Why do peop,e feel like they have to lie. I would've watched the stupid video all the way through if he'd used an honest photo. Done typing, I'm gone.
I hate it when they mislead you like that.... Big thumbs down
Garcia William Taylor Margaret Johnson Sharon
How can you justify saying motorhomes you've never seen? They were on the road by the thousands. How could one not see one? This program sucks
I hate clickbait videos…
Some of these were in the worst RV's video
