- While going down Second Hill in Onomichi, you'll find two elderly arguing about something, and it turns out an old cult we've already heard about is still active!
Sadly, we can't see Kiryu Do The Hustle in this one, but we get some nice closure, and a strong Deja-vu at the end! - เกม
That was pretty cool to give this guy a redemption arc after all this time, especially by trying to save people from the cult he created
It was a very nice callback indeed, and a nice way to wrap up his story with a satisfying ending, people can indeed change!

Yeah, shame Majima had a very minor role overall, he would've had a lot of fun things to say in this substory if he was here!

I wonder how Majima reacts to that when encountering Kiryu doing activities like that. Same applies in Yakuza Kiwami's substory of his. Plus, Majima might be happy to see Munan Suzuki redeems like that for real.
I bet he'd be happy to see that Kiryu-chan keeps doing the right thing, and he'd definitely like seeing Munan Suzuki's redemption after all these years, after all, he's in large part responsible for it.
Probably yes for that. Majima might say: "Good job, Kiryu-chan!" or "I'm proud at ya, Kiryu-Chan! You do me a favor takin' out these cult trash." Something like that.
Anyway, yeah... That really is a redemption. Hope some people did a right thing like Suzuki's redemption, I guess 🥰.

Yep! And Munan Suzuki is the one directing Kiryu on that path, what a nice way to bring things full circle!

Respect to the writers who made a redemption story to this character after Yakuza 0.
It was definitely an unexpected redemption arc, and to pull it off like this after so long in-universe, the writers have done a very good job indeed!
@@MrLemmy82 I think it fits since he was in prison. He definitely changed in there. He didn’t even want the money when he got out and was planning to rejoin, either; he planned to join just so he had somewhere to go. It really did him some good to think on it.

6 has the most beautiful color palette of all the games, like damn, even 7 couldn't do it.
6 is an absolutely beautiful game, yeah, they really wanted to go hard with the Dragon Engine's first game.

The fact that you meet Munan Suzuki in Yakuza 8 and he says the exact same line about someone facing their sins head on even though he can’t acknowledge the fact he’s Kiryu just hits different
That memoir in 8 was a really nice callback to this substory for sure, they did really well with it!

It's one of the big themes of the series, after all, people who have walked the wrong path and did some bad stuff still trying to do their best for others.

It doesn't seem to be in Yakuza 6's soundtrack, so it could either be an unreleased substory track, or come from an older game. I'll let you know if I find out.
