But this is not what Maniac was. The trailer, that over the shoulder 3rd person video game view, that's basically "the whole" movie... and not deranged talking to one's self, as u can see, this guy is very Jason VI

Maniac was a serial killer film (psychological thriller) doing that, this is a slasher film with a group and a killer doing that. Big difference.
No spoilers: I was able to watch it early in theaters this evening. I have a few nitpicks but thats just cause only a few films are truly perfect. The vision is there, the camera work is there, the gore is there if you are into that. More impressed with the idea, the execution of it and the dialed down bare bones story: 8.6/10 score for me.

The remake of Maniac is entirely through the eyes of the killer, start to finish. But I am looking forward to seeing this.

Same. More of an atmosphere guy but this one looks like the best of both worlds.
I hope it's good. I was let down by Abigail and Late Night With the Devil. They were ok movies but for me they didn't live up to the hype
This trailer scared the piss outta me, and I either don't scare easily or don't find too scary stuff that "everyone" finds scary... I'm also scared by things NO ONE finds scary lol, and while I don't like slow burns, this, as you're describing it, sounds like for ME, it'll be anything BUT slow

Last film that scared me was Strangers Prey at Night.
So it’s Jason. But not Jason. But looks like Jason. But not. But in the woods. But not Jason. But it’s kinda Jason-ish. But definitely not. But it’s a sLoW bUrN so if u hate on it, you’re not smart enough to grasp it. Can’t wait 🎉
K so it’s really just Friday the 13th from the perspective of Jason?! Basically. It could be cool to watch but I doubt it’ll be very accessible to standard audiences
