It's actually a good thing that hymns and other sacred songs are performed in different ways - this means they can reach a wider range of people, according to personal preference. Taking the Word to as many people as possible is exactly what Christ wants us to do

You should know though that they're certain others ways which are not sacred. And you cannot take The Sacred Word of God and make it unholy with diferente styles, they've been made that way for a reason, and the reason being is that the devil has his own kind of rhythm, the songs of the world are from the devil, some may be very subtile, when the lyrics seem innocent, however the rhythm is not. A hint: rock is not from the Lord. And before you disagree, google it up.
Plus, the hymns are supposed to elevate your spirit to God, and you know very well how certain melody's get you depressed, agitated, so on and so forth whereas the Sacred hymns convert sinners when they listen to it.
this is true in general, but when it comes to sacred music used specifically in Mass. Then there's what we call out favorite songs, and there are actual sacred hymns for use worthy of the sacrifice of mass that is reverent, solemn, etc

For a number of years I struggled to understand what had befallen me by the hand of others I counted as friends. Deep and bitter betrayal and accusations. I prayed to God for understanding and to bear me up. Understanding did not come. My soul ached.
After much prayer, I still was crestfallen. I felt withered. My prayer became to give it all to the LORD. Still I was being torn down. Please LORD, show thy mercy upon me. My LORD, I give this burden to you. I continued to dry up.
It was then that I realized I was still holding on. I said, but did not truly let go.
So very dried and withered, thinking to go lie down to die, I finally truly let go.
Friends, I tell you the truth. That at that very fraction of a second, when I truly gave it all to my LORD, did I feel that immense burden lifted from me. I was lighter than air! The entirety of that great burden had been removed from me.
The LORD thy God loves you very much. In His word, He says that He will take your burden, that He will lift you up, he will sustain you, that He has plans to prosper you.
Almighty God is larger than we can understand. His ways, His thoughts are higher than ours as the heavens are above the earth. I praise Him and give thanks. Rejoice in His matchless name. He has revealed himself to us that we may seek Him. He is our refuge.
Christ is the only one who deserves all the crowns. My soul glorify Him with all your heart and give respect to His sacrifice for us.

There is only ONE Immortal Crown, but there are MANY mortal Crowns who exalt Him. Which is the point of this hymn.
Praying for all the lost souls that they will turn to Christ Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Savior and BE SAVED NOW AND FOR ETERNITY.
My family and I attend a great Bible preaching church. Worship is very contemporary. I am 65 and I miss some of the hymns like this one.

Great hymn, and only our Lord is worthy the praises with these many crowns. Today's church needs to preach about HIM so that all eyes are on Christ the Lord, Savior, and the coming Judge and King. Too much false teaching in today's church all aimed at bring people to idols of this world (which are the idols of many of the priests/pastors of churches), like in the old days of Israel and Juda. Come the burning Spirit, to crush the alter of the idols, and restore the true worship in Christ alone
