- The Kansas City Chiefs handed Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers their second loss of the season in Tampa Bay last night, beating them 41 to 31 and avenging their Super Bowl 55 loss. Brady played the best game of the season so far. He only had 3 passing TDs the first 3 games. Last night alone he had 3. Can't blame the GOAT if his defense was poor last night and kept the Buccs offense off the field. Mahomes had the ball for 17 more minutes than Brady and still only won by 10 points. Chiefs also converted 12 out of 17 3rd Downs. Brady outplayed Mahomes. Buccs only rushed for 3 total yards while Chiefs had 186 more rushing yards.

Losing Tyreek Hill might have made Mahomes a better QB in the long run. He’s starting to play the position. Pre snap awareness and audibles, going through reads, and ball placement.

Well, they were the number 4 ranked defense (behind Buffalo, San Francisco, and Denver) but I don’t think that’s the point anyway. The real point of conversation is the fact that people were so quick, and I mean SO QUICK to write off the Bucs’ defense as ‘amazing’. Yes, they were currently ranked top 5, but the key word is CURRENTLY. Every avid NFL fan knows how skewed rankings are within the first 5 or so weeks because at least 90% of these stats are skewed due to who you play.
Here are who the Bucs had played so far in three weeks:
Cowboys (same old Cowboys that everyone knows about LOL + Prescott got injured halfway through)
Saints (you can see how bad their offense is. It’s their defense that’s good)
Packers (a team that was also 2-1 due to their defense again. Aaron Rodgers nor the offense has been overly ‘impressive’ this season so far. Jones having one great running game against the Bears has been their highlight)
IF the Bucs first three games were against something like Bills, Ravens, and Chiefs, I 100% guarantee you this defense would not be ranked even Top 20. In this case it’s very likely they would be 0-3 (especially if you assume the same situation would happen regarding C. Godwin and J. Jones injuries in combination with a decimated OLine)
But the lesson here is: It’s who you play that sets up your current ‘rankings’

Skip can't give mahomes any credit. He loves that afc championship game. What he doesn't tell you is mahomes threw for 295 3 TDs and no picks. Brady had over 300 but had 1 TD and 2 picks. Everyone talks about the offensive line and Mahomes toe in that Super Bowl but the reason that game turned out the way it did was because the Chiefs were dealing with an assistant coach almost killing a five year old girl in a DUI wreck all during the week before the game. Mahomes was not loosing last night, the chiefs were pumped I'm sure coming back to play in the field the superbowl was. It was fun to watch, it would of been closer if not for the bucs shooting themselves in the foot. They showed a clip Brady is like 125-4 when his team scores 31 points. Pretty sure most QBs have a good record when scoring 31 points . Mahomes was magic, that floater pass td on the two yrd line right at the scrimmage line. Brady's fumble was the difference.
