I’m a Chiefs fan and if Brady had retired after the SB, it would have been the definition of a perfect ending. Wins a ring on a new team to prove it wasn’t the coach, and he beats the next guy in line while he’s at it. He might still be married. Now he’s going out sad, with essentially zero chance to win anything else along the way.
Imagine skipping that opportunity only to have a losing team, and lost your family in the process, woof. I think Nick Wright has a good theory about what is actually going on though, he thinks Tom Brady actually came out of retirement because of the divorce, and not the other way around.
