I actually agree, Manhunter is easily one of, if not the most, underrated heroes to date. You forgot to mention his incredible level of intelligence. Many times the JLA turned to him for strategies or advice, sometimes even over Batman. Also, he makes a brief appearance in the show Smallville; where he is both extremely powerful and knowledgeable.

TMS Oh i know how highly underrated Aquaman is, it's just that from my viewpoint i see MM as more underrated. MM didn't have games centered around him (yes they were horrible games but games nonetheless) MM isn't getting his own (which is highly disappointing in my opinion) solo movie. They both are highly underrated but Aquaman gets more light shed upon him (especially with how they made his character more badass in the new 52) MM was never really the center of attention til the new 52 he was just a backup character (im talking about the comics, not the cartoons)
martian manhunter alone could probably take out the entire avengers on his own. he could wipe the entire hulk persona from bruce banner's head, easily dismantle all of the iron man suits, intangibility would render black panther, captains america and marvel, falcon, black widow and hawkeye useless. thor's hammer too would be rendered useless by the intangibility and he could change thor's mentality and way of thinking, making him unworthy to wield mjolnir. due to the control of his own size, antman wouldn't be a problem and aris has already established that manhunter could beat vision. spiderman could be defeated by manhunter simply by wiping his memory of any powers, or making him forget he has them. alternatively, iron man could be defeated in a similar way, by making him forget how to operate the suit(s). martian manhunter is OP AF.

Agreed. What upsets me about flash and most of the others is, well there basically gods. But they are easily beaten in some comics or shows. But later out do the foe. That's horrible writing. Flash moves to fast for someone with superhuman sense or reflexes to detect. It would talk a skilled fighter with the ability to see the future to beat him.

He has to be tall 2. He has to be slender 3. He has to have a deep voice He doesn't have to be played by a black actor but considering he has been voiced by black males, even drawn as a black male in the animated movies like doom, I think Peter Mensah is right for the role.

Honestly, most of J'onn's physical abilities (invisibility, intangibility, size changing, strength enhancing) come from (I don't remember what I read that explained this, but it was the best one I'd ever heard) his, and most Green Martians', ability to affect the density of his body. When he needs more strength, he literally takes in spare, random particles from the matter around him, and puts them to use. There was a particular story where he was helping the League hold back a flood, and he had to be careful that he didn't make himself too big, at the risk of taking too much physical stability from the lands he was trying to protect. Pretty awesome. The other thing that I absolutely love most about MM is that he's not only as strong and durable as Superman (with even more, and more fun powers), but thanks to his vast intelligence, and helped by his *decades* as a human detective, he possesses detective capabilities on par with the Bat (Batman has said as much many times).

After watching the Zack Snyder Cut of Justice League, I had to come back and rewatch this episode on Martian Manhunter. With that being said I was very surprised that Zack Snyder included a couple Martian Manhunter cameos. It totally makes sense considering Martian Manhunter was a founding member of the Justice League. I thought it was so cool that General Swanwick has been Martian Manhunter this whole time.

I think that Martian Manhunter is so powerful that it makes him difficult to write. Sometimes it seems like his power is, "Superman and Batman, only better." He is given a huge weakness to compensate for some of this. In someways it is similar to Superman's weakness to Kryptonite, only Fire is extremely common, while Kryptonite is actually rare. He is an awesome character, but there are times where I get the impression that he was forced onto a Justice League writer who does not know what to actually do with him. Martian Manhunter is sometimes used as a way to showcase the power of a new threat; this strategy also has the added bonus of not causing a more iconic and marketable character to look weak.
I always thought of him as a green, bald Superman knock-off but the Justice League animated series changed my mind. He was one of my favourite characters on the show and I did read his solo series as a result. J'onn is a character who deserves to be in the limelight more than he is, both in comics and movies/television/animation! I'd also like to suggest a "History Of..." video for another under-appreciated DC character and that's Red Tornado.
You mean his appearance in the Smallville series? The series was devoted to the build up to the arrival of Superman. They couldn't have Martian Manhunter show himself so powerful that Superman wasn't needed. That's why you want to give them their own show.

I hate how weak CW renders J'onn. He's one of the most powerful in the DCU, why restrict that?
You mean his appearance in the Smallville series? The series was devoted to the build up to the arrival of Superman. They couldn't have Martian Manhunter show himself so powerful that Superman wasn't needed. That's why you want to give them their own show.

Whether DC heroes are op or not, they're still more interesting than Marvel. Marvel's heroes are all cheesy and stupid, and so are their villains.
