The thing about the Walleyes is that they glide for insane distances. Half the time you lock something you dont even have to have the CCIP on them for it to hit. Just get the circle near them. Just make sure your going at least 700km/h and those things will practically fly towards any target you locked.
Used the A-7D, I found that full load + rocket pod and an additional Vulcan on the pylons closest to the cockpit were the best air to air loadout. The additional Vulcan was dual purpose and often used in place of the internal one. Rocket pod was for busting pillboxes.

Pro tip. if you set your game to use Km/h, the number will go up faster
