This is exactly the type of editing, pacing, humour and tone I love this most, and seeing it applied to War Thunder makes me (perhaps irrationally) happy. I sincerely hope your channel and videos gains more recognition and love.
Hey Pili, great video as always. The A-7's in War Thunder takes its flight characteristics from the F-8's flight model, the entire aircrafts maneuvering characteristics are nearly 1-1 with it in the files. The F-8's do the same thing but MUCH better and WAY more controllable. Something to note aswell, the F-8 and A-7's wing shaping profile, and weight distribution is also nearly identical to the Su-27 series, dunno if that has anything to do with it, but I'd imagine it does. F-14 can cobra aswell in full real at speeds between 90 and 360kt, but since it has so much lift, if you hit it over 170, it jumps in altitude by 10-30ish meters. Anything under that is fine.
Damn rare TH-cam Recommendations W. Great camerawork, good jokes (without becoming a full on shitpost) and an interesting funfact. That's a definite sub

i run the SK60, using the missiles. when it drops both missiles, it becomes wildly maneuverable I remember a Ki-200 complimenting me, saying, "Ive never seen an attacker keep up with a rocket before" Compared to guns, when you have no payload left, its a stunt plane
Those other maneuvers, while not Cobras, are Bell maneuvers, and serve the same purpose. Great video nonetheless, didn't know that the Corsair II could do that!
The A7D is very underrated. When it came out it was game breaking, but it's still very good. Sure it's not all, that fast but it's very stable and turns extremely well at low speeds, so much so that it very often catches enemies unaware. I've beat an F5c, su25s, mig21, f4s and more in dogfights using it, just because when they drop speed yo try to get on your tail they lose almost all their maneuverability, whereas yours stays pretty much the same
First time knowing this. I thought it would be something to do with her GIGANTIC airbrake, which probably is the biggest single-piece airbrake in WT so far I guess.
Who remembers when the A-7D was at 9.3 and was only 1 of 2 strike aircraft that was also a jet. Oh and no one else had countermeasures, the AIM-9J was cracked and the 30mm gun pods did''t weigh anything and would fire 56kg pre second
the first aircraft to do a true cobra in WT was probably either the J7W or the SB2C (which had a major issue with its CoG vs aerodynamic centre flight model issue on release, making it borderline unplayably unstable with sim controls). I don't have any footage of the SB2C's old FM, but the J7W's old FM can be shown if you look up in broken english (because japanese), "J7W is UFO" Also before the draken, the MiG-21 could cobra and at a very specific speed, does 115 degrees AoA. MiG-21's FM has since been horribly nerfed and has pretty terrible elevator authority now. Also, Mirage IIIC could do a backflip. I haven't been able to do one in a while, but I do have footage of me doing it a few times, initiating it at about 200 knots/~350 kph. None of the other mirage FMs has the pitch responsiveness of the IIIC, but the reason why I haven't been able to do it for a while is because like the draken, its pitch authority got nerfed recently. Also, Kfir is technically an attacker. It fullfills the thrust requirement, and there's a hilarious footage of someone in RB doing a cobra, spinning a few times in a hover then flying off without dying.
"this isnt something you'd use in a real battle unless you were either extremely desperate or extremely dense" congratulations you've just described most of war thunder
The cobra is a very useful manuever if you use it correctly. when you are sure that your opponent wont be able to pull its nose into you in time before they overshoot. I use it in the flanker when I stage dogfights in sim custom battles. I'm able to consistently compete with gripens using it to avoid the nose.
Hey buddy, i think you got hit with the algorithm so be ready! I've never seen WT videos like your and I love it. Definitely going to sub and hope your channel grows fast.
I may have been able to cobra with the vb10 twice. In air assault though. At least it looked like one to my cousin and I was only doing it because I was about to reach the bomber wave way too early and die before anyone else reached. It was such a slow cobra that any enemy would be able to run away before you got the nose back down lol. Cut the throttle and yanked it back then pushed it forward and put throttle back to max. Altitude went up a bit and back down to the same as before the manoeuvre.
Can you do a video tutorial how to do flat spin, inverted spin, air barrel roll etc...? I play with controller idk if that's possible for controller players.
Use "LT" OR "L2" To enable controls and use up, down for the pitch using the right stick, and left, right on the left stick for yaw and from there key bind whatever to switch to full or realistic controls whenever you want to practice without the instructor. That's it
