Thank you for this build. When I get the Focused Efforts vision I always choose Occult Overload and Cutting Defense from the blue champion tree in order to spread the status effects around more.
@@Bekfst I like cutting defense because it will proc even while blocking, and with the boost to weapon enchantments you can actually permablock on another build, with a stamina drain enchantment because while stam regen doesn't work while blocking, the weapon enchantments will return stamina, and it can proc from multiple targets. You will chew through soul gems though, so steadfast enchantments from the green tree helps.
I always wonder if people inside of ZOS have discovered these things before release, or are they as surprised and delighted to find these kinds of builds in the wild as the rest of us are.
What would you recommend instead of the drake's rush set? I guess it's here because it allows the ultimate to charge faster, and that's the only purpose of the build. But I don’t have that dlc.
Im not sure if you are still reading comments, but I have a quick question. Why did you choose venomous claw and engulfing flame combo over their morphs? Would the scaling fire heal not be more beneficial, or does it not help as much because of the magma shell?
This late into the Archive most of your damage comes from status effects thanks to the Focused Efforts vision. I chose Venomous Claw over Burning Embers because it deals more damage, Venomous Claw will apply the Poisoned status effect which in this case is better than Burning because I'm already getting Burning from Elemental Susceptibility. Yes the healing could've been good but I valued damage more. Engulfing Flames is better than Noxious Breath because it boosts enemies' flame damage taken by 6%, which affects the Burning status effect, not just mine but also my Warden DD partner's. Noxious Breath applies Major Breach which I can already get from Elemental Suscepitbility.
Looks cool! What do you think about running a restoration staff front bar with Mender's bond for minor heroism? Would that work? These potion are just too expensive for me
Just wondering, what kind of build is your partner running, i.e. race and class? Ty in advance and thanks for the video, going to try this tank build with a friend!
Hi can i use a mythic 1 jewerly is open or im dumb i play it so: flame staff elf bane 2 piece/flame staff potentant 2piece/ Head: elf bane Chest drakes rush Shoulders:elf bane Belt:drakes rush Hands:drakes rush Legs:drages rush Feed: drakes rush 1 jewerly :elf bane And 1 potentant 1 yewerly is open ? Or its wrong btw greattt viedio
It still works just as well but it can be made better with Scribing, I plan on updating it soon, I just want to see if Major Heroism attached to Trample Grimoire which is currently on PTS will actually arrive in this form on Live server, because if it does it changes a lot cuz we'll be able to drop Drake's Rush
I tried this build today for the first time as solo player with healer companion. I managed to reach arch 2 final boss and get him to almost 30k health before dying (dont know if i had to kill adds too because i ignored them) but i was already playing for 1,5 hours and gave up (had no clue of the mechanics to be honest)The build is very solid although it i does pretty low single target dmg. But it works. Even solo. Even going in with pvp cp allocation as i did.
Hello. I understand that you are using Drake's Rush to boost your partner's damage, but in terms of survivability only, how much worse is Heartland Conqueror set instead of DR? Moreover, if actually using HC, what weights (armor pieces) would you choose for this setup? Thank you
In normal circumstances their ulti generation is comparable but with IA visions you can get permanent uptime on DR so it's much better. As for weights, I'd go for 5 heavy 1 medium 1 light at the beginning and once you can sustain permanent Magma I'd go with 4 heavy 2 medium 1 light for the damage (you're forced into at least 4 heavy cuz of Elf Bane)
tank to tank when i run a dungeon group throwing on shield wall i can easily pick up a dead person easily. been a dk main for almost 4 yrs but giving up the aoe rez and the abomination is hard.
could the DK class set be a viable option for major heroism? doesnt give it to the partner but you do have the option to play around with weights, good for optimizing a solo run at least xD
I don't think it's worth it, because you'd have to cast an Earthen Heart ability every 10 seconds to proc it so you'd: -lose a skill slot on your frontbar, cuz you'd have to slot an Earthen Heart ability (would probably slot Cinder Storm/Eruption to proc it) -lose 2 GCDs every Magma Shell, to cast this Earthen Heart ability Also, my partner was playing a Warden DD and giving him Major Heroism with Drake's Rush was increasing his DPS by a lot because Warden can do a lot of damage with Permafrost ultimate thanks to Focused Efforts
3 because of you need to have undeath passive for up to 30% extra damage mitigation scaling with missing health. However,I suggest to get spell glyphs or even go to imperial race for cost reduction of your skills.
Yes, that information is missing from the final tooltip, but it shows up when you're choosing a morph "New effect - Applies Minor Mangle to non-boss enemies, reducing their Max Health. Triples the innate chance to apply the respective status effect."
I haven't tried it solo yet, but nothing changes survivability wise so it'd be the same as in group but much much slower. Companions instantly die to AoEs so running with them is no different than playing solo
I tried it, and it's very slow and very boring. You definitely want to go as far as you can without it. You will have to make sure to interrupt Infusers, Totem Masters and Runecasters, as they can heal all nearby enemies and undo all your slow progress. I would avoid using it until at least Arc 6-7, and just have Magma Shell on your bar for "oh shit" situations. It's better to solo than go with a Companion, some boss mechanics are adjusted (e.g., Lady Belain does not have a shadow area) for solo runs and Companion will just constantly die to AoEs even in Arc 1.
No, this is specifically for Endless Archive. The regular DK isn't outdated, the only thing that changed are jewelry traits, you can also use Harmony now
Fyi, they also nerfed dps statuses in general in u41- even though hemorrhage now does slightly more damage than before at 3 stacks specifically, and poison has been given the execute damage property...the base values are now considerably lower, and even with these new features they have, it's a net negative dps change from my personal impressions, so while it's still viable, between this and the Vision change, the total damage output is radically lower. The way it is, a titanic two-hander from DsA is a better damage option in trash IA arenas (especially because DK have easy access to Empower through Molten Armaments, so your regular heavy attacks also do decent damage, and in a rather big aoe); stack mobs, immobilize with Talons, go helicopter on them. Throw in Inevitable Detonation if you want, it makes a big "boom" with the Archival Assault verse, but is alright even without it. With bosses your best bet is to stack the strongest dots you have without hyperfixating on statuses specifically. Oh, and the ranged undaunted taunt thing has been radically nerfed as well, so feel free to shuffle some things around to taste, as long as you keep the core "100% uptime Magma armor" idea. If you feel extra frisky, replace Drake's with some strong damage focused set for boss fights, just know that a single hiccup in your ult-generation cadence with Exhilarating Drain will cost you dearly. Deadly strike is a fine option I can personally recommend. If you're really, REALLY good with resource management, interrupt timings and like to live on edge, you can forgo Drake's entirely in the first place in favor of the Last Stand warfare star (it's stressful as hell, although also viable).
For a duo what class and support sets would you run? Im thinking Nightblade with pillagers, pearl and bloodspawn using major heroism potions to provide the dk with guaranteed ultimate? Also great for execute single target mobs when they have tons of health. And can provide even more damage reduction with ultimate. What do you think?
35 pieces of gear in the class sets from endless archive and I've been told to farm the arc1 to get drops does that mean if I'm unlucky I will have to do 35 runs to get a specific piece? What a load of **** What have other people had success with? Does the curated container form the merchant let you choose a specific piece it's very pricey to test it myself
Curated container just means it will be an item you don't already have collected. If you go above Arc 1, you usually get more than one item per Arc. Marauders often drop it, and sometimes secrets or just random bosses too. I did 3 solo runs with my Sorcerer, first one was 3 Arcs, the second one was 4 Arcs, and the last one was 5 Arcs. I have all Sorc set items collected, even though together, it was just 12 arcs.
Buy like 10 random ones to start than farm arcs 1-2. If you do it on a fresh class you'll most likely get all new gear making it easier to finish the rest or at least get the ones you need at around 7 extra runs. 1 ring and a necklace is 3 pieces ready for you
Exhilarating Drain - obviously Unrelenting Grip - chains can be used as a soft-taunt so you can give up Inner Beast/Destructive Clench Deep Breath - healing, damage and interrupting Elemental Susceptiblity - a lot of damage Hardened Armor - damage shield that'll help you survive outside of Magma, can maybe switch to Barbed Trap but it's hard for me to tell cuz I'm just guessing I think the bigger issue with one bar build would be the items sets, rather than skill slots, as you can't fit in Elf Bane, Drake's Rush and Potentate's so you'd have to give up Potentate's
I'm sure there is a downside... but why not 2 DK's? There has to be a point where losing the group passives from other classes is worth it, in order to magma spam.
Well, warden just gives way more damage in comparison to other classes since he procs chilled status effect. But sure if you want to make tanks work a bit more
Another bad thing about is flame damage sources from adds like dreadhorn shaman minotaur which kinda makes you dead instantly when out of magma. Fun fact is the dragon shard gives you flame damage DoT but only when you block an attack.
In higher arcs you won't be able so survive without constantly having magma shell active. At this point you can spec more into DMG than defense cause it wouldn't make a difference anymore. If you can't manage to keep up magma shell 100% at this point you will die anyways.
@@G0K4Rx527 So why spec into something else if you are anyway going to get one shot? I still don't get it, he said if you are out of magma for even a second in high arcs it's a rap. So how is going for something less defensive going to help?
@@mobspeak it will help kill enemies faster. In higher arcs even trash adds have huge HP and it takes forever to kill them. Sometimes when your DD dies and its impossible to res you need to be able to kill stuff on your own too.

Basalt-Blooded Warrior is also an option, it's weaker than Drake's Rush but it drops in Infinite Archive

Amazing! Is this build still viable? Also does this build work well for dungeons or arenas?
what about baron monster set? applying status effect and gen ult
Is there an update to this build?
Hello there, can i play this build with update 41, or are there other choices/skills for that content
?
Nothing changed
Nice guide Hyper! Would Serpent Disdain work in replace for Elf Bane?
Nope, you need Elf Bane to extend Magma Shell
Are you using the undeath passive or should I stay stage one vamp because of ability cost
Stay stage 1
could the DK class set be a viable option for major heroism? doesnt give it to the partner but you do have the option to play around with weights, good for optimizing a solo run at least xD
Think so, there is some other build on YT featuring this idea. Although you gotta run a earthen heart ability on front bar.
I don't think it's worth it, because you'd have to cast an Earthen Heart ability every 10 seconds to proc it so you'd:
-lose a skill slot on your frontbar, cuz you'd have to slot an Earthen Heart ability (would probably slot Cinder Storm/Eruption to proc it)
-lose 2 GCDs every Magma Shell, to cast this Earthen Heart ability
Also, my partner was playing a Warden DD and giving him Major Heroism with Drake's Rush was increasing his DPS by a lot because Warden can do a lot of damage with Permafrost ultimate thanks to Focused Efforts
Might be a stupid question but what stage of vampirism is best for this?
3
3 because of you need to have undeath passive for up to 30% extra damage mitigation scaling with missing health.
However,I suggest to get spell glyphs or even go to imperial race for cost reduction of your skills.
1, you need it to gain access to Exhilarating Drain and you don't wanna go higher because it would make Magma Shell cost more
Did you say pulsar has triple the chance to proc stats effects? Where does it say that?
Yes, that information is missing from the final tooltip, but it shows up when you're choosing a morph
"New effect - Applies Minor Mangle to non-boss enemies, reducing their Max Health. Triples the innate chance to apply the respective status effect."

@@Hyperioxes ok thnx
Are you using the undeath passive? Or only going stage 1 for the drain?
Only stage 1, going stage 3 would increase the cost of your Magma Shell
Would you consider do a sorc tank all content video?
When did they nerf focused efforts? Is it still the best vision?
Fyi, they also nerfed dps statuses in general in u41- even though hemorrhage now does slightly more damage than before at 3 stacks specifically, and poison has been given the execute damage property...the base values are now considerably lower, and even with these new features they have, it's a net negative dps change from my personal impressions, so while it's still viable, between this and the Vision change, the total damage output is radically lower.
