I can say why the arc with Gentle was important, because meeting him and learning of his circumstances and story helped Deku reach this stage of wanting to know what happened in the villains' past that made them like that, something pre-Gentle Criminal Deku never wondered before, making him a much better hero than what he already was
Beso, I think the whole why villains became villains idea isn't something profound that we needed an actual example. Especially Deku is the type to over analyze the situation maybe if it was someone like bakugo who doesn't pay attention to the "why" it would make more sense
@@dashingkevs3295 consider that any bad move can get you laveled a villain in this hero society, and that's what Deku alongside the others have been learning their whole life, in this context, I feel it'd be harder for anyone to be thinking of why villains do bad things, they were just seen as something that has to be stopped and heroes were seen as those who stop the villains, Deku never thought why they became villains with those he fought until Gentle, nobody in that society asks why villains are villains, doing a few bad things is enough to treat you as one
