It’s hard to tell the end result when others use the same mannequin but different quadrants for each effect. The second one is great for someone that wants to go very blonde with a tap or shadow root! Then you get the full coverage but can help soften that root area for grow out.

I always practice the hinge technique with my foils so I have no slip & can move freely between. I also never crease the bottom as it pushes the color or lightener away from the hair and can create spotting in the mids/ends
