      She was an abusive opportunist. Kominsky-Crumb and her husband had an open marriage, and Kominsky-Crumb's "second husband", French printmaker Christian Coudurès, lived with the family (as did his daughter, Agathe McCamy, who assisted Kominsky-Crumb in coloring her comics)

    Would have been nice if Aline Kominsky-Crumb was acknowledged in the title too, given that it was both of them interviewed. Especially as they point out how few women were cartoonists when they started out, she was a pioneer. Otherwise, great interview, left me wanting to hear more.

      her comics weren't very good. Do you think her being married to Crumb is the reason to give her equal billing? Is this about fairness to you? Or are you consistent with this opinion and you want husbands of famous women to be interviewed too? Politicos are so tiring nowadays. Anti art too.

    my sister (proverbial hippie) used to work for Crumb very early 70s in Montreal. She sold his underground magazines and was allowed to keep a portion. A group of them stayed in an apartment where they printed the mag. Mag had drug prices listed and his comics in them. They said my sis could stay. They'd make a massive pot of soup daily that everyone could share.
    Door to to apartment had a Pig poster with something relating to cops written on it.

    R. Crumb eventually over the years, lost most of his social awkwardness, evident in his body language as he interacted with the "helpers" before the interview. Go R. Crumb! Damn you, Jordan Peterson.

    • @MicahMicahel
      @MicahMicahel 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      why damn Jordan Peterson? Huh? Jordan Peterson said he likes Robert Crumb comics and the Freak Brothers by Gilbert Shelton. He's a Jungian psychiatrist and scientist. Are you against Jungian Psychiatry?
      Maybe you think Robert Crumb isn't politically incorrect? He would be cancelled in a second if he tried releasing stuff today. The left is completely totalitarian or socially fasciist.
      Also Crumb was against he experimental medication all leftists were in favour of.
      He's practically a right winger in American terms.
      You believe Crumb;s comics aren't completely offensive to leftists? They are anti art nowadays.

    Art is the externalization of an inner emotional-intellectual need to resolve the conflict of the need not being expressed. My emotional state has got far worse since I developed a bad tremor that has stopped me from drawing. I had to lose it in order to properly evaluate it's functional value.

    greatest artist ever! ( norman rockwell,neal adams, s.clay wilson, same graduate class) my only gripe with Robert as with george harrison and Many others is their Absolute Denial and Recognition of how L.S.D. improved their work and Life! I'm not sure if it's their inability to share credit or the stigma of "DRUGS" This is of course a tremendous Disapointment to the Many of us that know and Appreciate the Benefits of this Medicine that could/would Help Humanity and the World! I'd say it's time for Legalization' But it Never Should have been demonizsd in First place.
