This should not exist. A musician so good she sounds like three pianists playing at once, AND a selection of custom pianos, AND fine camera moves and lighting and even costume changes... I like that she didn't wear "costumes," she wore outfits that clearly recalled the characters without being cheesy about it. Han Solo, Imperial officer (in gloves!), Princess Leia and Han passing their theme back and forth... It's amazing. And oh my god, her PLAYING. If an upcoming Star Wars soundtrack has a piece for solo piano, they found their soloist....and if it DOESN'T have an opening for solo piano, WHY NOT? C'mon! Paging John Williams! Thanks for this. I'm an elementary music teacher and I used this song in my lesson plans for "May the 4th" this year. I was thinking when I put it in my lesson plans "there's no way these kids are going to sit through a 10 minute song". Well... I was completely wrong! My students are ABSOLUTELY MESMERIZED by this video and wanted to watch it again! Love it!
Not only do I love piano/ passionate music, but I am a Star Wars fanatic, and this is one of the most amazing performances that I have ever listened to. The pull and push, the feeling of inner instability turning to resolution in the Leia and Han Solo love piece.... just heart wrenching and captivating.
This is incredible. The pianos, the score, the sets, the characters. You can tell that you all put so much thought and effort into it, and it really paid off. It's so subtle and beautiful.
I really hoped to hear "Across the Stars" and "Anakin vs. Obi-Wan" 'cause the public opinion on the prequels is insignificant next to the power of epic score. Also the raw structure of General Grievous' theme would've been awesome on the piano. Regardless I still enjoyed it. May the Force be with us all. Emperors' treasury contains my cut-off right hand that gives this medley a solid thumbs-up.
I'd gladly pay for version 2 when it comes out. I've been working on this medley for about 2 months now (an hour a day since I work full time). It's coming to me, but very slowly. I think it helps that I'm classically trained, anywho . . . it was totally worth the money to buy the sheet music. She's amazing!
