Thank you! I have been afraid to do this with my late mother's old chapel veils, as well as a chapel cap where the threading fell out on one side of the clip. I always buy sewn-in clips, but my mom's veils are from the 1950s and 60s, and they didn't do that back then, so I am constantly adjusting them during Mass. I have wig clips, and now I feel confident enough to do this now :)
Thank you! My new chapel veils come with the clip already sewn in. However, I want to start wearing my great grandmother's veil and need to sew my own clip on. I feel more confident now!
That's is so sentimental to be wearing your great grandmother's veil. So glad you feel confident os sew on your own hair clip. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video & visiting the channel. Have a great day!
This video saved my life. Thank you for such a well detailed video. Embarrassed to say but especially when u showed the clip to open and close. Thank you.
After seeing this video, I had no choice but subscribing !!! Thank you for making such content. In the meantime, I will binge-watch the rest of your videos! Bless you, and happy Easter!
I wrap the end of my thread around the tip of my index finger, and roll the thread between my thumb and index finger and pull off my finger while holding the thread to create the knot. I learned that from an Irish seamstress, back in the 70’s.
Can you tell me how to sew white trim satin/ribbon/bias satin/ on the edge of wedding veils for my granddaughters? I have sewn for years but I have never seen it or known anyone that has actually worn a veil with the satin trim. No lace just a white trim on the veil edges. Thank you so so much. I love your channel and I subscribed a few weeks ago. Love your tips and tricks.
I have tried 4x already to sew my clip back into my infinity veil (before I came here). Thank you for zooming in to different parts. I have such trouble making the knot at the end of the thread. It has to be big enough not to slip through the mesh of the lace. I end up with several little knots in different places and not one big knot. Then the lace got pinched with one of my stitches, so had to rip it out and start again. So now I will have to go for attempt # 5. Can you show a very slow closeup of your wrapping the thread around the needle to make a knot? I have very thick stubby fingers, and have poor vision, so please help! Thank you in advance. I tried your method to make a knot but I must have done it wrong. No knot resulted. Attempt #5 also failed. I had the clip upside-down apparently. The teeth went in the correct direction, but wouldn't clip my hair. 😭 So had to rip it all out again. After 6 tries, finally got the clip going the correct way to the end and flipped it over to the correct side. I had another chapel veil so I could see up real close just how it had to go. Many tears (and sadly a few bad words) it us done...never give up.
Michelle On the top right of the video there will either be a gear shape or three small dots for you to click into a screen will pop scroll down to playback speed and click it will allow you to slow the speed of the video down.
Wendy, in the Catholic faith it is a sign of reverence to our mother Mary to cover a woman who is pure and chaste. It is actually appropriate to wear a veil to their first communion and in church on Sundays.
Thank you sooo much!! I’m getting married in two weeks and will be wearing a mantilla. Do you think one clip at the top is good enough, or should we do one on each side (closer to the ear) as well?
O wow! You might be walking down the aisle right now. Congratulations on your wedding! It can all depend on your hairstyle & texture of hair & length of veil. If you feel comfortable & confident in one clip when trying it on, then keep it at one. If you feel that you need more after trying on the veil with your hairstyle, add them accordingly. Sorry for the late reply but congratulations on your wedding & many blessings on your marriage!
I've never seen that trick for making the knot at the end of the thread. LIFE SAVER! Thank you for showing that!!

Thank you for the instructions on sewing in clip on the chapel veil! The wedding veil and the first communion veils are beautiful!
Thank you very much! I am sewing a mantilla veil for my daughter and planned on sewing plastic combs to the veil. Wig clips is a much better idea!

What if the veil has very fine edging. How can you sew it on very fine tulle without damaging it? Thanks.
Thanks for the great explanation 👍 loved it! 😊

Hi where is your video showing how you made the veil in this video? You mentioned that you had a video showing how you made it. Thank you.

I still don't understand. One or two pins per veil?
Why is it called a clip? It does not open and close.
These kids are too young to have veils
