If you make a Part 2 it would be a good idea talking about the Embedded Tower that's in HGSS that contains Groudon/Kyogre but still after capturing both of the Legendaries in HGSS we have to show Professor Oak the Groudon and Kyogre we capture to get the jade orb so we can capture Rayquaza in the Embedded Tower.
I remember 9 year old me just wandering around post pearl game, exploring a random cave I just found, finding Giratina sitting there and freaking out really bad. Called my older brother to come look lol

Gen 4 was my favourite. I didn’t have a computer and had no access to serebii, so once I got the national dex, I see a place called spring path open up, go in and have no idea what’s going on. Run around for a while then all of a sudden this wall of a monster is just there... no mention of it or anything, not knowing what it is. It actually felt legendary.
You don’t know TRUE fear, until you have know knowledge of Giratina’s existence, and you stumble upon him after running around mindlessly in his hideout. I’ll never forget it.
to bad nintendo/gamefreak doesn't actually make cool events like these anymore . hopefully they will actually put more effort in the next games but it doesn't seem likely cause they like cash grabbing more than fans nowadays
@Steven Turner Dang. I've started to buy some of the cheaper new games (Ultra Sun, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Moon) and I'm feeling somewhat grateful they weren't included. Missing an entire event from a decade ago is an experience that's locked behind time unless you cheat, which is a huge struggle for me with the Gen 4 games. Now, I'm just missing some slightly different Pokemon that aren't necessary to feel complete in my experience.
@Steven Turner You know what? I absolutely LOVED being able to explore the world and find these legendary Pokemon. Now, there's hardly anything that you need to actually do to get them. I didn't mind the Ultraspace thing, because you did have to do just a little bit of work to get the Pokemon. But yes, it's not anywhere near as special now. I know some people complain about legendaries even existing, but I think each one of them has the potential to have a really cool story or a quest to get them. Add a bit more lore to the games, people would LOVE that!
I still have my level 1 modest Dialga, no level ups until we get DP remakes. That way I can have a grand adventure with my baby dialga exploring the remakes together edit: I KNOW ABOUT THE REMAKES EVERYONE. Im going in with my nuzlocke playthrough first, picking shining pearl (Piplup starter) and then on an alternative file I will do a solo run with baby dialga AFTER my 3DS is fixed if it hasn't by the time the remake came out.

When x came out I explored a random cave/ mine and found Zygarde ( I thought I was one of the first people to find him) I was really excited cause every game had the mystery 3rd legendary Pokémon and he was in the shape of a z so I got extra excited cause I unknowingly found the basis for Pokémon Z Than it got cancelled

I think once i did come upon to mirage island on my saphire when i was trying to go from sootopolis to pacifilog town, but i ignored it,thinking i would come later, i thought for the story i needed to go the pacifilog town. Well i was young back then and didnt know much about all this. And i think got pokerus once, but resetted, because the nurse at the pokemon league showed a text different than then the usual, and tried to speak again but then it showed the regular text. I thought maybe it was something important and had something to do with my "battery run dry" thing of the cartridges and resetted without saving to see if could see the same text, but nope.

I got Mirage Island a few separate times on the same Ruby cartridge but now that cartridge has now dried out and the internal clock settings don’t work😥
I caught Pokerus in Gold, Ruby, and Diamond. I actually believed that Pokerus was just something you run into at some point in the game, not a one in whatever chance. I remember Gold's like it was yesterday (and this was back when it was the latest game): I was hunting the Legendary Beasts, specifically Entei at the time. I just caught him so I thought he did it (he could have but there was also the period of time before I caught him, up until I took them to the Pokemon Center to heal them) that and along with my sister getting it and my friends, I had no reason to believe that it was random.
I wouldn’t really call event area secret areas, they were pretty well known, you just couldn’t get to them without going to the event or in some mixing records
I can activate that event over and over in my game with action replay. Unlimited lvl 1 giratina dialga and palkia. Mwuahahahahahha. The best part is they all transfer up
When I openend up my (in 2015 or 2016) 7 or 8 year old diamodn save file, I just wanted to walk around in the region again. After a few moments I somehow found the cave with Giratina, I was very surprised because I didn‘t know that I never caught it even tho I know that you always get to catch the special edition legendary in the base games. I didn‘t even know this cave existed and I even got the correct way the first time.
Playing platinum for the first time as a kid and reaching distortion world was crazy because that storyline wasn’t in d&p, definitely the best of the 3

In Heartgold and Soulsilversome people missed some of the Hoenn pokemons: Hoenn music wild pokemons, Hoenn starter pokemons, Latias, Latios, Groudon, Kyogar, Ryquazia and Hoenn pokemons in the safari zone.
All these mysteries and hidden points are the "jewels" of pokemon games. Where in the newest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet... We're missing all of that :/ . The only 4 legendaries in there are just hunting for check points (items on the ground).
If you missed out on the arceus event look up: Pokemon void glitch, it lets you get where the event lets you go without the event. This means you can get darkri, shamin, cresselia, and some other stuff but they are the only events you have to use the void glitch for if you missed the event.

Every single pokemon game i have poured countless hours into exploring everything. Thank you for the recap, i forgot about a couple of these places. Makes me want to start a new adventure on the older games again
The still could do so much more with mew. Like a complete new region geared to an aztec lore, volcarona making a return, having new legendaries, including a "evil" legendary, flying dragons, having a jungle with exotic plants, lay lines and what not. It also taps in the lore of mew and having priest pokemon that are involved in the mew story. I mean, in the first movie they went to the jungle of guyana and it was never fully extended on as they actually could. And what about the donphan trainer, where was that located? Maybe ash could crash like the series lost and dial back to oak at some point lololol.
I was thinking of something similar, like a reboot to Gen 1 with Mew and Mewtwo being the focus. You are hired to catch Mew only to discover it was really Team Rocket and they steal Mew from you and try to clone it, with Mewtwo wreaking havoc and being the ultimate bad guy until you catch and win him over.
Newer Pokemon games are lacking stuffs like this. Mysterious, side quest, hidden secrets and places, which makes this games more special and fun in some cases
now that im watching this in 2024 and brilliant diamond and shining pearl.has come out, boy everything about what we expect from the remakes was wrong and sad to say there is no distortion world. hahaha

Fun secret nobody seems to know: You can access Mirage Island in R&S at exactly 200:00 hours of gameplay for only a moment. Me and all my JR HS friends left our game boys on over night for days until we got close to the threshold. Then we talked to the old man at exactly 200 hours and he confirmed that he could see the island, at which point, I raced there in under a minute and made it. I’ve seen like six videos about it and not one person has mentioned this. Has nobody else done this? Surely I can’t be the only one.

One small detail you missed for the Nameless Cavern. You have to have 3 pokemon with max friendship in order to access it while soaring.
In all my time playing gen 3, I never once got Mirage Island to appear :(

The still could do so much more with mew. Like a complete new region geared to an aztec lore, volcarona making a return, having new legendaries, including a "evil" legendary, flying dragons, having a jungle with exotic plants, lay lines and what not. It also taps in the lore of mew and having priest pokemon that are involved in the mew story. I mean, in the first movie they went to the jungle of guyana and it was never fully extended on as they actually could. And what about the donphan trainer, where was that located?
Maybe ash could crash like the series lost and dial back to oak at some point lololol.
I was thinking of something similar, like a reboot to Gen 1 with Mew and Mewtwo being the focus. You are hired to catch Mew only to discover it was really Team Rocket and they steal Mew from you and try to clone it, with Mewtwo wreaking havoc and being the ultimate bad guy until you catch and win him over.

Newer Pokemon games are lacking stuffs like this. Mysterious, side quest, hidden secrets and places, which makes this games more special and fun in some cases

I never saw Mirage Island and thought it was a joke until one day, after years of not playing it, it finally showed up. Talk about patience.
I remembered I found mirage island as a kid when u put that picture up it brought back all these memories
I remember that "Turn Back Cave" fondly. I remember that feeling of seeing Giratina for the first time before Platinum was revealed. The "Sinjoh Ruins" were awsome too! I remember that lvl 1 Giratina I get from that place well!

I've actually had Mirage island appear in ruby or emerald game can't remember which. Never knew that the berry was special.

Also, Gen III probably deserves to be the one that caused the franchise to wane in popularity. They made it to where you had to spend maybe $300 to complete the national dex.

In Black2 I got to a place which was at the back of Alder's place. When I went there I found a big rock, when I click it it says "Three sharp marks are deeply cut into the rock". Idk if it's a secret zone or something just thought of sharing this.

Fun secret nobody seems to know: You can access Mirage Island in R&S at exactly 200:00 hours of gameplay for only a moment. Me and all my JR HS friends left our game boys on over night for days until we got close to the threshold. Then we talked to the old man at exactly 200 hours and he confirmed that he could see the island, at which point, I raced there in under a minute and made it. I’ve seen like six videos about it and not one person has mentioned this. Has nobody else done this? Surely I can’t be the only one.
the best part about the black and white 2s one is you get a shiny dratini or shiny gible if you beat it! its a battle frontier type place tough but very cool

That would be amazing. It would also be an easier way of getting Mew over to the newer gens for anyone who missed the event as you can't transfer Mew Glitch Mews from Red, Blue and Yellow Virtual Console without some complicated glitch (8F glitch I think).
