I have to replay to verify, but I think they oriented the decks horizontal to the direction of thrust, as seen in most sci-fi. To anyone who knows the expanse, that is a big no-no. Vertically aligned decks, like a skyscraper in space, is a big part of the franchises world building.
The first episode was very short, even for Telltale standards. If felt like a demo, some kind of vertical slice of all gameplay mechanics. But I'm excited for the next episode.
@@ShadowHarborer GOG is a competitor and their "exclusivity" is limited to weeks, not a year. If the only way epic can compete with steam is by using the tactics that makes consoles so shitty epic dont deserve a customer base.
@@ShadowHarborer monopoly means the exclusive supply and control of a trade/service etc. Steam doesn't make deals for exclusive releases other than their own games. Listened to ALL of the Audio Books in this series(I drive Truck, makes the time out on the road go by quicker), can't wait to play this one and all it's chapters since it's considered "Canonical" to The Expanse universe.
The only downside for me is it's on EGS. Not a fan of that storefront. I really do want to play this, but I'm hesitant because it's on EGS. It's also available on console, so I may just grab it on my PS5.
Nice to see you focusing on more games. Should look into "falling frontier", "fragile existence", "jumplight odyssey" etc.. Lots of large and smaller games coming that are worth looking into while we wait for SQ42 and Star Citizen...
If you cannot wait for the maybe production of Season 7,8,9 The audiobooks are excellent and conclude the saga… 8 novellas / short stories too !! ~ 200 hours of time in “The Expanse”
You got a few things wrong. Epstein drives definitely exist in the timeline of the game, they've existed for 2 centuries. There is no artificial gravity plating, spacers use magnetic boots to attach themselves to surfaces to be able to walk on them in zero-g. It's explained in details in the novels, but there's even a bit in the show that acknowledges that it's tricky but eventually people learn to not notice it at all. The books and the show are pretty hard sci-fi, all things considered. Artificial gravity only exists in centrifugal form, like on Tycho station and Nauvoo/Medina station, or in the direction opposite of thrust. That's the handwavium super efficient Epstein fusion engines that allow all ships to be under thrust for nearly the entire duration of the flight, so spacers almost always have gravity. The Expanse was made to be a tabletop RPG, the authors thought every little bit through so the universe of the Expanse lends itself nicely for video game format.
here is hoping the new Telltale crew can do what the old did with this series love the expanse so it would suck if it doesn't hold up, that Minecraft one was very bad so time will only tell 😉
If there is one thing i am excited for it's for the archangel DLC. In the trailer we see a statue of Atlas... if you know, you got a good idea of when i think the story will take place in the timeline.
Had me thinking Christina Chong was Cara Gee in that first episode of Strange New Worlds. Definitely want to see Cara Gee pop up in Strange New Worlds now though
And as any of the book readers knows, this character actually didn't exist as depicted in the TV show. It's a blend of two separate ones from the novels. Don't be a faux-fan and think the show was 100% equal to the book characters and events. *sigh* That being said, as far as the TV show goes, this is a great game. It's just aggravating that is takes two weeks for each episode to release. One week? Sure. It would be like the old TV shows we had to wait for each week. (Albeit most didn't connect to the prior episode, let alone the entire season!) Any longer and most people may tend to forget what the heck happened previously, in all its entirety.
seems i have to add telltale to my boycott list. they made the game exclusive to epic, that is not acceptable. any developer that lets themselfs get bought out like that, needs to learn a lesson.
Well i know whenever anyone has monopoly on something, they can do whatever they want with it and its bad. But its mostly when its about things necessary to live and a game is not one of them 😅

.... A video game based on the most boring aspect of the expanse.... No ship combat... No space piracy. Ya the expanse story is good but a game that focuses so much on just story.. why not just have a prequel tv show. Looks boring af

Daaang... playing Drummer? Man she's an absolute badass.
What?! I'm a HUGE fan of the show so how did this go completely under the radar to me?!
Probably because it's an Epic exclusive for now
It’s epic exclusive which is already a no no for most people. For me this game releases next year after the exclusive is over.

Morph speaking belter is so fun
Just hearing Cara's Drummer voice gets me really excited for this, but it looks like the developers have done a tremendous job as well.
Damn Epic and their introduction to exclusives on PC. Hope I don't have to wait too long for it to have a proper release.
Same here, I ain't supporting that shit. You gonna release to a pc platform you release to steam that's just how it goes.

Going to wait for it to release on Steam, it is a more than lightly timed exclusive.

Didn’t know about the expanse TV show until I watched your video on this game. Just watched the entire series in like a week and a half. Absolute gem

Neh. If ppl. need an introduction, they should just see the series.

Strange question but what’s the song in the background of the first minute or so
Hope they give this away free in the not too far future. Telltale games are not my thing - even though I've collected them all as giveaways.
Love the show. Don't love Epic Store exclusives. It would have been nice to enjoy this game.

It looks like they skinnied up the characters compared to the actors in the live action. Cara Gee next to Camina Drummer would look a bit beefy.
A definite buy if it hits Steam.
its so sad that the show didnt continue
Can we get a expanse / strange new worlds crossover at some point, purely so we can have a Drummer/ Baby drummer (La'an Noonien-Singh) meeting

So not only is it a telltale game but it's also an epic exclusive. Thats going to be a no for me, no matter how great the books and show were.

That's why he said bi-weekly.
