Ran Han Red in a 32 player tournament. The deck shined against Boba Green and Krenic Green but struggled against Thrawn Blue and Han Green interestingly enough.

Does anyone know if the cards Han defeats in the resource zone at the beginning of the next action phase can trigger the "When Destroyed" effect of Black One?

They can not, they aren't in play/defeated as a unit.
